Logistic Thrash Slots Not Working?

I have researched the Thrash Slots logistic technology, but nothing happens when I put something into them, e.g wood. I have a powered roboport, I have tested operation with the logistic robots on a random passive provider chest, so I'm just wondering what I'm doing wrong

Do you have storage chests in the network? That's the only place where logistics bots can store their stuff if a requester chest isn't asking for any.

This doesn't entirely have to do with your question but just a quick heads up... There are some items that can't be Shift-clicked into the trash slots. Just thought I would mention that because it might seem like its broken again. :p

Maybe theres some design thought behind certain items not having that inventory interface functionality?

It's more that the toolbar overrides the trash as a shift click destination for placeable items.
