Minor issue with stacking of train engines/wagons.
See fig_1.jpg
The bottom row just shows two partial stacks of storage chests.
The middle row was initially the same as the bottom row, with a stack of 3 and another of 2 storage chests. When I pick up the stack of 2 and place it on the stack of 3 it places the chests normally, resulting in a stack of 5.
The top row shows that happens when I do the same with a cargo wagon. The partial stacks seem to be treated as different items, so when I place the stack of 2 on top of the stack of 3, it swaps them out instead of stacking normally. Engines, fluid and cargo wagons behave this way.
Right-clicking works normally and will add 1 to a partial stack. Shift clicking from player inventory to chest and vice versa also behaves as expected.

Can you please post a save file showing the issue you're describing?

I can reproduce this, its just convoluted explained. In chests you cannot combine stacks of wagons or trains with left click, the number in the chest will just swap with the number on hand instead building one summed up stack in the chest.

Split a stack with right click. Then left click on the same slot. The items are exchanged rather than placed.

Thanks for the specific reproduction steps. It's now fixed for the next release.
