To see this - enter a vehicle (car/tank), and crash into a tree or a building. Now look at the map - there will be a blue spot where you crashed, as if a building is there. This blue spot persists even through save/load cycles.
This is especially visible after driving through a thick forest.

i can confirm this, but the blue spots get randomly removed, maybe after 1 day, 1 week, 1 year, atleast its random

I never noticed them disappearing, but that could be because I crash into trees too much, so I have too many such spots
Anyway, just wanted to note this is not really new - it's been around at least since 0.10.12, and if I recall correctly it was actually introduced when vehicles got their triangle-icon in map (somewhere along the 0.10 branch?)
