[0.17.0] Error on start, file missing

Hi,
this must be the first bug report of 0.17...
i downloaded the zip file of 0.16.51 from the website and updated it to 0.17

when the game tries to start i get this error message:

german text says: the system cannot find the specified file

please help!

Same problem for me. I used the in game updater to go from 0.16 to 0.17.

I doubt logs are gonna help any.

The "beta" and "demo" campaigns no longer exist in 0.17. It seems like the factorio's internal-updater is not fully removing them. Resulting in the "beta" folder still existing after the update to 0.17 but the "description.json" file was removed.

Browsing out to your <factoriofolder>\data\base\campaigns\" then manually deleting both "beta" and "demo" folders will fix the issue. They have been replaced with the new "npe" campaign.

In the installation folder of your Factorio. It can be virtually anywhere, depending on if you're on Steam, where is your Steam folder, if you use the standalone version you have updated, ...
Get to your Factorio installation folder, then into data\base\campaigns\

Resolved for 0.17.1

I downloaded 17.1 within the last hour. I still got this message. The reason is that I had a save file from 0.16.x from this folder. Deleting the affected save fixed it, so this is something to look out for when upgrading.
