[14.3] Ghost player on competition server after crash

Log dump from the crash out

Was on Round 5 at ending (right after a team won), was running Upward collided with a tree and was also running on a yellow belt pointing same direction as i was running. This lead to enmass server desync (2x then 3x lead to client crash out) and this log is what was generated.

The crash bug is already filed, therefore this report is only regarding the non functional player.

Edit: Wait, there is no desync, is it the wrong log?!

I don't know that is the log that was generated upon desync crash out 3x

Well hopefully it will show on theirs, i know on client side, it desync'd 3x then the 3rd desync lead to a crash and the error log i posted is what was generated from the crash. I hope whatever went wrong helps them patch/fix it though. They always seem to be fast to fix things.. so fast its unbelievable. They got a great work ethic thats for sure

Does anyone know how to reproduce this crash? I've seen a bunch of bug reports with identical crash logs but nobody knows how to reproduce it and I can't fix it without knowing how to reproduce it.

The part It crashes on should crash well before it reaches that line so I don't know what would cause it.

For me ive been able to produce it solely just playing, "

Somewhere in that statement and on round five is where im able to reproduce the error colliding with the trees, belt and player, or just the belt. For me the Belt has been a crucial part of what leads me to crash out, get dropped from a server, or just flat out stutter/lag until i get off of the belt (going in any direction on any type of belt)

Edit:, and add in this doesn't matter if its competitive or any mod or game mode, it seems specific to collision and belts. Try running around on belts non stop until it crashes out, or desyncs, ill try to reproduce it in a controlled environment and upload a video of how its done so you can re-create the bug and go from their

Was able to recreate but it may not have generated a new character yet, i tried this on the DRM build (clean install)

Will upload video in about 15-20min to show what lead to the bug, problem is, it didn't create the desync/ghost copy, "yet" but what i was doing in the video is exactly how you create a ghost copy

Somewhere in that statement and on round five is where im able to reproduce the error colliding with the trees, belt and player, or just the belt. For me the Belt has been a crucial part of what leads me to crash out, get dropped from a server, or just flat out stutter/lag until i get off of the belt (going in any direction on any type of belt)
That's not reproducing it :) I need a way to reliably reproduce it using 1, 2, 3 steps so I can know if changes I make have actually fixed the issue. "Play for a while and it should crash" doesn't guarantee that it's fixed.

This action i did ingame seems to be the cause of what crashed the game server. I forgot how to use my mic, and with that said ill just type out from 3:15 and onward. Basically i tried saying "This is how you do it you toss down belts doesn't matter where and walk into them, you will eventually get caught in the belt, or collision with a object, for me it was often caused running into trees and belts combine. As for the ending part, what crashed out was i was generating client side lag running into the belt, running into objects or colliding with them, and then tossing my chest (iron chest) down after crafting one. It can be any object you toss down not just a iron chest, and this causes a desync, auto drop from server, or entire server to crap out, ontop of generating a ghost profile or locking you out of server. These are the symptoms i've personally observed recreating what the ending part has done. Crashed. It seems solely related to your competitive game modes though.

For multiplayer servers, the issue is separate but the results are the same. Its more so related to the belts and moving on or in any direction on a belt while in a server that causes the desync/crash/ghost copy of player in a server, but thats a entirely separate issue (or is it?)
