Game crashes on startup

Albert had the same problem, he solved it by installing the service pack 1 on windows 7.
You need to go to Windows update and click the "Check updates" manually and install it.

well... updating win7 didnt fix the problem.. gonna try to install different win7 package

It did actually fix it for me. Took a couple of tries (to be precise 3) cause my windows decided to first fail to install the service pack 1 and on second try it mysteriously canceled it without me telling so..
But I can now run the 64bit version!

apparently my friend didnt install SP1 properly first time ( -_- ) . so we got it working by installing SP1 for Win7. thanks for the tip
