My friend has a server and he and other people can connect to it but i cant.

I changed a few things and tried compatability mode with windows 7, made sure my firewall was open and ran as admin....

It works on my windows 7 laptop but not my windows 10 computer.... that is the only difference i can see.

According to this search, it is a problem with the socket being already used.
Can you try to restart the system and try it again?

Yeah i tried to reboot, that did not help... can i reassign what socket it is using? Would i need to do port forwarding with my router?

Or is there a way to find out what is using that socket and i can disable it?

I closed everything i could and finaly made it so i could start downloading the map but it still crashes; It said the server was not responding but was still downloading stuff...

Well, these kind of errors will be ignored din 0.12.30, so if it happens randomly, it might work in 0.12.30, lets see.

I have con-seeded and have been playing on my laptop... not ideal but better than nothing.

So far it doesn't look like this will be ignored -- It's a different error than 20078. I'm working on it.

So kovarex was right, it will be ignored in 0.12.30.

This change has two possible outcomes -- either it will fix the problem, or it will cause Factorio to disconnect instead of crashing. Please try it once we release and let me know which one it is (and attach a log file). Thanks.
