[0.12.x] text issues

I've just bought and installed the game (steam), but most of the text is unreadable. I've tried all the different graphics settings, different versions, detaching my screen but nothing helps. Going from full-screen to windowed or back changes the text, but it's still unreadable (last screenshot). I can't find anything about this problem here, on the steam forums or on reddit. The screenshots I added are from the menu's, but the problem prevails in-game.

Try to set Factorio's launch options in Steam to "--force-d3d",
also OP in this thread viewtopic.php?f=7&t=20595 said they solved similar issue by deleting config.ini in %APPDATA%\Factorio\config\
