Good job sir.

Funny how the silo loading oscillates with two peaks, did you turn it on in sequence?

Re: Tutorial:Controlling oil reserves with pumps

Well, if you convert it into solid fuel you run into problem with non-infinite storage/consumption for the said fuel - and this is not just theoretical, but also practical issue, for very large scale production or for very long timescale because past certain point, you are not able to guarantee enou...

Re: Friday Facts #114 - Better train conditions

Suggestions: ROUTES: allow players to configure "routes" for trains, ie route 1 goes to station A B C, route 2 goes to station A D E. Each with pre-configured wait times/conditions that are route specific. then adding a train to a group only requires selecting the route. also the route sh...

Re: Tutorial:Controlling oil reserves with pumps

A) Cracking is one-way process (you can't turn lighter fraction into heavier). B) Oil processing always produces some petroleum gas. A and B => If your petroleum consumption is 0, and your storage is not infinite, then you can't create design that will guarantee infinite production of any other frac...

Re: Train car length changes depending on orientation?

I had almost the same experience in my last game, when I was trying to use a blueprint for creating outpost train stations. I agree with others, and think this should change. Not only because it makes it impossible to create rotatable blueprint for train stations, but also because it is not logical...

Re: [0.12.11] [kovarex] Game is running in administrator mode after update

You should really start a bootstrapper of your own non-elevated, then run the installer and elevate that, keeping the bootsrapper running non-elevated to relaunch Factorio of new version after the installer is done. But why bother, there's like one in thousand programs that does UAC right, Factorio ...

Re: End Game... Launching Rockets? 40,000+ of them?

Using bob's makes it easier to reach huge numbers (modules, especially god ones are insane), not harder. Bob's difficulty is in setting the complex production chains, ramping up the production is easier than in vanilla. However the numbers are very high even considering bob's :D

Re: The Electric network infoscreen is counter-intuitive

The debate about boilers etc is pointless. The meter already assumes some level of available capacity (otherwise you'd always have two equally full green bars with coal). And yes, having TWO bars that display ONE number out of two (available production, required consumption), to imply ratio with the...

Re: Poll: Faster crafting speed?

Tbh, I feel an option for faster manual crafting in Factorio feels like an autopilot option in a racing game, or an auto-combat in a fighting game. In my view, it's a convenience feature. You will best see that when you force yourself to not hand-craft anything. I tried vanilla campaign doing the m...

You don't have to build the walls two thick, just don't build anything directly adjacent to the the wall (i.e. leave one tile space) and the biters won't reach (until they chew through).

For part of the reason my mod has over 200 downloads, some people like faster crafting speed research. Are you saying they are wrong in their belief? That they are somehow sullying the idea of the game by using such a bad and disgraceful mod, and to play the game in a style that suits them? 200 out...

What actually remains as "cost" of a release, now that the testing and release process is automated? Server bandwidth? Bandwidth that otherwise might not be used if the update was delayed. Though with the differential patching system of auto-updates, that's a bit of a moot point. Nah, tha...

Re: Oil transporting tipps!

Even a single box as a buffer fixes most of those problems, though it means you're loading / unloading at about 1/7th the speed that's possible. And where on earth you need 7 inserters worth of barrel moving? One rocket per second factory? :D Edit: You could utilize it "slightly" sooner: ...

Shouldn't it be release? (someone switched to wednesday release, it's thursday already). There isn't a release every week.
