Re: Friday Facts #224 - Bots versus belts
Well, imho, you could simply add a couple of options to the „new game“ tab: - Disable Logistic Bots - Disable Construction Bots - Disable Solar Power - Disable Atomic Power This way, people can simply choose the playstyle they prefer, and enforce it when creating a multiplayer map. What I strongly d...

All the scenarios people have shown here dealt with the combination of yellow with red belts - can you simply fix it by replacing the single last yellow belt with a red one?

Looks like you got angels installed (which really is awesome aswell). There you need to refine the raw ores in multiple processes for the advanced ones.

Re: Multiplayer server strategy for keeping everyone busy
I‘ve played countless multiplayer games in factorio so far. In my experience, you have a small number of players who have a „big plan“ and just start laying down their blueprints of varying quality ... many of the others will just randomly start building some of the stuff thats planned this way. The...

Re: I wish I had the money.
I have bought the game more then 3 years ago at a state that was far from today - and never regretted it for a single second. Right now I‘m on something like 2000 hours played time in the game, and thanks to awesome modders like bob and many others, I‘ll probably keep playing it constantly until Fac...

Re: Construction Robots should have mining power
While it may look strange , just imagine a world where you have to wait a second on each tile to be built ... just a pain in the ass. On the other hand, it wouldn‘t hurt at all if the bots take a moment to deconstruct something, as you can simply build thousands of them anyways, and can do whatever ...

Re: Wagons capacity and weight
Well, a chest is a static item, standing at a single place - if you want to compare wagons with anything, then compare them with belts or drones.
And looking at any bigger base I have seen so far, they do a well-balanced job in that comparison.

Re: kovarex enrichment science FAR too cheap
Well, I think its not the research of Kovarex thats too cheap, its rather the process itself that makes its usage a total no-brainer.
Something like doubling the consumption of standard-uranium would probably improve its balancing while still keeping it usefull.

Re: blueprint ghost removal ?
Another question within this Topic: After placing a blueprint (and before you have robots researched), is there a way to place items, maintaining the settings of the factory/inserter? Right now, when I place a factory on its designated spot on the blueprint, I have to manually set its recipe, former...

Well, lets look back in history a bit: A genious like Da Vinci was able to research dozens of different flying machines, but due to the limitations of materials and technologies in the early centurys, he was not able to successfully craft functioning versions of them. Or back to today: Just 15 years...

Re: Why virtual reality got so high requirements?
There is another aspect, regarding the resolution: HD resolution on a conventional screen provides roughly the quality you need for a normal experience when working on your PC - this screen covers something like 30-60 degree of your eyesight, depending on screensize and your viewing distance. When i...

I'm german myself - while the article is in a quite neutral manner thats not propaganding for special partys, it really should not have a place in a neutral gaming forum - I'd vote for quickly deleting such posts in general - there are enough other places for political information out there.

Re: More granular logistic chests
While your idea has some interesting aspects, its probably hard to use on public multiplayer maps. To use a system of numeric prioritys, you need to have a certain plan behind it. On a public multiplayer map, people will end up making most chests maximum priority because they find their part of the ...

Also, due to the fact that there is no real competetive/PvP part in the game, you don't have all the "class X is OP !!!" and so on complaints. In game, I see quite often swearing and crying on bigger public maps: most of it is, when a single person starts to sabotage stuff, or two people h...

Re: Which PC for Factorio?
As long as you aren't building megabases, any medium class PC should do well.
If you plan anything like i7-7700k + Gfx 980 or better, + random ssd + 16 GB, you should be safe for whatever you do - if your PC hits this level, the only thing that can limit you would be a bad connection
