However, moving a large amount of mass through the air is a LOT harder then over the ground, assuming flat-ish terrain. Fair point :) But assuming they are quite high up, they would be safer from you (out of range easily) and they could fly over water as as far as I know, biters can't swim. Yet... ...

Blueprints exist because the player already went through all the sweat and tears of building a previous base. Ultimately, blueprints should be something that the player carries with them BETWEEN games. The function of a blueprint catalogue should be the ability to save/load/use blueprints from disk...

More forms of transport is always good.

I do have one constructive criticism of OP idea, though: Cargo planes in real life can carry entire transport trucks, etc... so no reason to limit them to half a cargo car. ;-)

I agree with OP.

While the current train setup allows moving resources, it lacks any intelligence and is simply time based. I also want the train to fill up before coming back.
I also want the train to wait at home base until it's completely empty. ;-)
