Re: Planning vs Winging it
So I guess my question is, can I enjoy and win this game by winging it? Or is proper planning absolutely necessary to both optimization and victory? As many already told, you can send a rocket (an official win) without optimizations and plannings. Just add more production when needed, some turrets ...

Re: Tackling the yellow science production
It's a bit challenging, but try giving yourself extra building space to work with. I've found that's usually the biggest problem, and when I do decide to put a lot of extra space between different parts of the factory, I always end up being really happy with the decision later on. If that doesn't g...

Re: Computer crashing during gameplay, sometimes blue screen of death.
considering I regularly plays Skyrim with a BOAT LOAD of mods, which is usually one of the most taxing things, to which the game runs perfectly fine. I feel like that would be in general more taxing on the GPU, while Factorio tends to be more CPU/memory taxing. Part of my brain chuckled at this. No...

Re: Computer crashing during gameplay, sometimes blue screen of death.
That's interesting. We replaced the power supply for not being strong enough not too long ago. It was an upgrade to a 650 Corsair. Out of curiosity, is there any particular reason why this power supply issue would ONLY happen during playing Factorio? I find it hard to believe that the power supply ...

Rule #1 of Factorio: Automate All the things. If you're doing it yourself more then once, you're doing wrong. :P How can I automate placing radars and running power to them in newly-occupied territory? Without mods I mean... Blueprints (or ghosts) and Spidertron installed with a Robotport. yeah tha...

[Koub] Please, this is getting totally off topic. So ... back to topic, or I'll have to lock the thread. Its a hard thing to discuss in any real capacity, since: A. its copyright law stuff, which needs lawyers to even comprehend at this point B. Youtube's handling of its whole system is 3 different...

High electric network is almost always because someone has built a boat-load of isolated networks instead of one-big-network. For example: 10~ solar panels and a radar, copy-pasted around. There's a fixed overhead for an electric network to exist and the per-entity cost gets cheaper the more entiti...

Re: Huge amounts of lag in multiplayer
Can you think of any reason why I can ping the server just fine in cmd and router diagnostics, and get good results... But the game itself struggles so much to do the same? For one.... Traffic shaping. This is why net neutrality and the torrent throttling debate is always so heated. ISPs, among alm...

My first game was an undescribeable mess. my green circuit production: 10 assemblies feed by one belt of wires. :) And then the trains came out, barely playable, and I built a train which goes about 100 tiles. But I played it! Yeah. This is my Factory. There are no other ones like it..... so this o...

At the rate things are going, Disney should just preemptively copyright claim everything.TheRangerLOL wrote: βWed Sep 23, 2020 8:48 pmThe automated systems are really getting bad about stuff like this these days. Hopefully they fix all the bugs before they release Skynet, but knowing our current society they won't.

Dollar per hour played is such a poor metric to use, much take seriously, that its been debated as highly questionable for as long as its been a thing. When brought into the context of Modern MMOs, I can spend thousands of hours and feel less accomplished then one run of a rocket launch in Factorio ...

Voted "depends" Red, Green, Military, Blue, Yellow, Purple, Space. I know that Military is black and Space is white, but I neither know nor care the names or uses of any of the colors. Never thought about it, but I name them the same way. Military is a gray color, which is presumably a de...

Re: Tackling the yellow science production
So I guess yellow bottle is the last bottle I need to produce right? It is the last you need to produce in quantity to send a rocket /research the silo. Sending rockets with a satellite to space reward you white science pack which one could argue is the final science. Both those productions (and ma...

Re: I seem to have an issue with sound. Please help
Is it a bluetooth head set, and is it silent before opening? Because the sound itself for the game is just a deadbolt, or a knob-lock popping out.... but it wouldn't be "sometimes", and it wouldn't be in only one ear.
