Re: Friday Facts #256 - The little things 3
Love some of these ideas, Just need 3 more things for .17: 1.) Another end game (aka. not personal solar panels) 1x1 grid space item for OCD reason., love the Inventory/Toolbar idea posted previously. 2.) the ability to turn off personal logistics requests/trash slots via interface (not equipment as...

Re: Friday Facts #251 - A Fistful of Frames
You mentioned that you saw better improvements from AMD cards, after reviewing the benchmarks, were they are improvements for the NVidia cards? all I see are AMD and intel adapters. On the Y axis are CPU names and we didn't mention GPU, because the optiomization is supposed to be just CPU side of t...

Now I only need to know where to get the Factorio hoodie Klonan is wearing on one of the photos. :-) Yes! This was also my first thought when I read this. It's for developers only, either become a dev or kill one. oh, nevermind . It's valuable because it's exclusive. Bah, you just know you couldn't...

... also don't forget a "pause research" button. It would be nice to have that as well. Then I don't have to run through half my factory to hit a powerswitch. why would you pause research manually? just hook that powerswitch up to a signal and define when it should stop (for instance when...

Re: Friday Facts #226 - New mod portal & other news
Change of tack with this post, from belts/bots to T-shirts. Could I suggest that you never make any more of the 'factorio gear' t-shirts. Make a new design instead. It's not as though you are short of great graphical images, from inserters to biters, so why not offer different designs each time aro...

Re: Friday Facts #225 - Bots versus belts (part 2)
This was written at page 27, and to be honest I'm not gonna go back through it all. In your test, you missing the bot charging data because you don't have enough bot charging points for that cloud. The ONLY reason bots are heavily used for larger bases is because of the lag belts have. The lag is ca...

My only issue with your statements is that you're considering breaking fluid wagons when compared to barrels. If you rebalance wagons, you will NEED to rebalance barrels.
I can live easily with just a one fluid per wagon tank.
Just need to stress this: REBALANCE BOTH BARRELS AND THE WAGON.

Re: Friday Facts #216 - Paving a path for the GUI update
I kinda wanted to write this for 212, but never really got around to it. That said, this blog post is similar, so I'd like to say it. I'd like to encourage the developers not to turn the UI into something akin to "everything is a button." This is one of the things that made early versions...

I need to make a confession.
I'm addicted.
Addicted to optimization.
It's something that programmers have lost sight in recent years.

Who here can wait to kill themselves with a Nuclear Rocket?
Xterminator better be recording 100% of the time after that is researched.

Not surprised was telling some streamers and you tubers that it's not this week.

p.s. if you wanna break the game, let Colonelwill and Xterminator play it and give them a week.

I'd like to throw my name in the list of people that are disappointed in the removal of the closed loop cooling towers. I would have just made them optional just like the circuit network is optional. (You have to do the research, but I've launched many a rocket without it.) That way closed loop syst...

I don't mind the changed to Boilers as long as they produce more steam and more efficiently. Also costing more as they are bigger and better. Keep in mind that they are one of the first things you make though, so you have to wait that much longer to get to electric, which is an important step due to...

I would like to add my voice to the "Nuclear reactor explosion trope needs to die" group. It is an old trope that was never accurate, reasoning is explained previously. I would also like to add to that there needs to be a reason to actually use Nuclear power. Already people spam Solar/Accu...

My Locomotive MK3 has a speed limit set to 2, and can quite easily top out at 432km/h if you give it enough time on a long stretch... or just no cargo wagons. My Armoured Locomotive has a speed limit set to 1, which is lower than the base game. I think that puts it at a speed limit of 216km/h. It t...
