Re: Meaningful Content Update

I realize it's a small team and making a quality game takes time, but sometimes I have to wonder if your priorities are in the wrong place. This game is still in early access and going to be 1.0 soon. If you believe than polishing the game is a wrong priority, then I'm glad you're not project manag...

Re: Hotbar Quickcrafting

Thanks for merging this.

It would be nice if someone from the dev team could give his thoughts on this request. Do you consider this a good idea and do you plan on implement this someday? Or is it something you rather do not implement.

Thanks.

Re: is checking biter path cheating?

Understading the rules of a game and using them to your advantage is the complete opposite of cheating. I might have misunderstood. I thought OP is using debug visualization to display routes planned by pathfinder ... if that is not the case, I take back my original statement. Might as well be me t...

This forum is the place to make such arguments. Anybody can check whether what I said is true. If I'm wrong, show the counterexample.
Making wild, unfounded claims and then putting the effort to prove you wrong on the other person is not how you make an argument. It's absurd.

Re: Remove Train Stop research, add Train Stop to first "Railway" research

It's daunting enough for new players just to figure out how to build rail networks in the first place! Combining those two techs does not make it more daunting. And to help new players to figure out rail networks, there is a vey good tutorial. +1 for OP. Splitting up Railway and Automated Rail Tran...

If turrets could be read by the circuit network, this would be a fun circuit to build. Too bad you cannot connect turrets to the circuit network.

Crafting items from the quick bar.

TL;DR Add the possibility to craft items from the quick bar slots. What? How it should work: CTRL-CLICK a ghost or item stack on the quick bar, to add 1 of that item type to the crafting queue. SHIFT-CLICK a ghost or item stack on the quick bar, to add 5 of that item type to the crafting queue. Cli...

Can you show us what you want it for? I don't have any immediate uses, but i might later. [...] Nobody who's built anything substantial with circuits is serously arguing they need changing. Re: Check for Factorio updates before loading sprites

It will be better to check it before the data stage, why are we need all prototypes for the game update? Of course it must be optionally. Well, because the "content pipeline" is not that well though out and GUI styles and assets are mixed with everything else, so the game is not able to c...

Re: Blueprints should not be items

I agree. Using blueprints is inconsistent and confusing. I've been playing Factorio on and off for about a year and a half and still manage to do it wrong from time to time. I don't see the point in having them as icons, either.

I don't know how to make it better, but some change should be made.

Check for Factorio updates before loading sprites

The game should check for Factorio updates before loading sprites. This way you do not have to wait for the game to load sprites twice -- when starting the game and again when starting the updated game. I am aware that I can postpone the installation of the update, but I think that this change would...

[0.17.47] Yellow stacking inserters are faster when placing on red belts.

Edit: It just occurred to me that this may be in fact because on the yellow belt the previous item may be blocking the placement for a couple of microseconds and this adds up over time. I'll leave this open nonetheless, just in case I'm wrong. Otherwise, please feel free to lick this thread. If you ...

[0.17.47] Yellow inserters cannot pick up from red underground belt entrance

Yellow inserters cannot pick up from red underground belt entrances. However, they can pick up from yellow underground belt entrances, as well as from red belts. This video demonstrates the bug as you can see from the second belt from the left. https://media.giphy.com/media/keZpzVOK8PLhQYMpeB/source...

What a confrontational response. Too bad. Your response fascinates me. How would you have liked what I said to be phrased so you wouldn't consider it confrontational? I wasn't trying to be confrontational or aggressive. There was no meaning beyond reading the request and giving an honest answer. Th...
