I can see that there are still a lot of small changes posted by people to add various mod compatibilities to the main mod.
It would be cool to get those integrated into AnodeCathode's version and put up new thread for it.

Fix is quite simple - all drills need to have storage_slots defined - at least equal to 2 for dual ore drilling to work correctly.
I attached the drill prototypes with changes done - you'll need to put them in the mod zip file in prototypes directory replacing existing ones.

I could post you fixed drills.lua and areadrills.lua - not sure if they will activate properly in already started game tho. Any idea if this mod is maintained currently? It's not configured to interact with quite a few ores from other mods and it seems like a nice way to change resources. Would be cool to expand it to add all those resources. PS. I can confirm that limestone is probably no longer managed by this mod prop...

I played around a bit with the storage on drills - it seems that for Dy-Tech gems to work correctly it needs to have 10 storage slots.
It works nicely then - trick will be to get advanced enough to actually be able to mine those in ShadowMegaModpack.

Out of curiosity I looked at 0.1.6 and file in question is a normal plain text file.
Usual windows encoding and standard text in it.
Try to get Notepad++ - both apps you mentioned are not really used for coding - they are not meant for it really.

Enabling pause (shift + space by default) shows a grid with thicker lines every 32 grids.

Then you really need to upgrade for your mod pack
When launched it eats up some horrendous amount of graphical memory on high. According to GPU-Z it's about 1.4GB after actually loading a game.
