The server doesn't need to do rendering so it gets to run slightly faster than a client. Hi, I have a server/client with xeon e5-2667 v2s @3.60Ghz with 128 GB DDR-31866 in quad-channel, capable of being in 8-channels. Is that fast enough for a gigabase with a lot of chunks explored? Or should I move to a ThreadRipper 2950x with DDR4-2933 for the client?

Hi, I am curious if the Factorio code is able to be programmed to support SMT technology (Simultanius Multithreading) and NUMA. I know this is far-out because not everyone has an advanced workstation server as a gamer, so I will not blame you if you choose not to support it.
