Re: Performace issues on High-End PC
Hmmm, author. well, who told you that you have a "High End Performance PC"? Did they invent or fell for marketing persuasion ?? I would like to see at least one test result on the site https://factoriobox.1au.us/ The fast ones are those that are at least in the top ten according to the res...

Re: Performace issues on High-End PC
My amateurish take on this base: Too many construction and transport drones, I would reduce it by 10 times Too many trains. I would increase the length of each train and halve the number. Horrible copper production. On long manipulators - it should be done on short and fast Huge open space with bite...

Gigantic Sized Structures
https://s.micp.ru/9Y182.jpg Hopefully one of the biggest logical networks :)) (Note - made in vanilla, by hand and blueprint. Everything that is done with the help of mods - I do not consider. :) In the center, to assess the scale, I marked out the production base itself. As I understand it, this i...

Re: Anyone installed Windows XP from USB?
The most effective (but also the most time-consuming :) way is to make a bootable USB flash drive with a CD-ROM partition, which in the BIOS and in the computer itself is seen as a banal USB CD-ROM. Installing Windows happens as with a regular CD-ROM. It is made by special utilities from chipset man...

Re: Validate Saves
Well, yes, neutrinos and other shnyaga)) In my case, everything is probably more prosaic, summer and high temperature (now it is early morning and +40 outside the window, in the afternoon and +50 happens) In general, the first run of the test is a little disappointing - 8 random errors in 6 hours of...

Re: Nuclear Power Problems
I switched up based on what you said about 4 being too much, so now I am running 28 sets of 2 turbines, but I think 56 turbines is too much based on what you and the links you posted are saying? 2 turbines per heat exchanger is also not the best solution. There is not enough steam at full and maxim...

Re: Validate Saves
Ah, and there seem to be an option to increase number of auto saves, https://www.reddit.com/r/factorio/comments/6kqncj/psa_you_can_have_more_than_3_autosaves/ At first glance, it looks like an attractive solution. But.. I tried to change the time limit between autosaves. I had 40 minutes, set 480 m...

Re: Validate Saves
Problem of the game? No! If someone invests into a computer 64 GB Ram, he/she should be easily able to invest into a working backup, that is useful for his kind of setup. If someone invests 1000 hours into a game and builds something great and has no backup, how much is the invest worth? And yet th...

Re: My "small" sandbox.
Why have you disabled comments under the video ? Savegame , please. Apparently I turned off comments for other videos, and they turned off everywhere. Included. Link to yesterday's save. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1k1bSz5-9o24PtQy_-6UpNOdNGDrTGS7Z/view?usp=sharing This will work on any compute...

My "tiny little" sandbox.
My main base is on my home computer. But there is also my second base, on one of the computers at my place of work :)) She is only one year old, just over 5 thousand hours :) Pure vanilla, but already DeathWorld Marathon, all by default. I launched the first rocket in 96 hours, only after that I beg...

Re: My "small" sandbox.
To capture video, you need a very, very powerful computer, something from the latest processors from AMD Ryzen 7 5800X and above, and fast RAM 64 GB or more, because 48 GB of this map is definitely not enough

Re: Validate Saves
Do you have a thread documenting your world? See here: https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=204&t=73328 Video would be nice, of course, all the hands would not reach, capture a video and make a tour of my sandbox. Few probably have seen a 45 GW compact :)) nuclear power plant, and even t...

Re: My "small" sandbox.
Do you have a thread documenting your world? How big is it? What's your production? What does it look like and what does it do now? Purpose? In that branch of the discussion it would be some offtopic, so I will answer here :) This is just a branch in my world. I will repeat myself once again. Pure ...

Re: Validate Saves
And that are large worlds, where I need about 4 minutes to travel with 300km/h train from one edge to the other. How big are those saves? These are your small worlds :) My save world takes ~ 3 GB, saves ~ 18 minutes on a fast SSD drive. from the respawn point to the last point I have to go ...

Re: Validate Saves
It rarely happens, or not rarely, but I have only encountered this problem twice recently. Of course, you can say that I have problems in the computer hardware, and these are my problems. And if still not ?? Saving with subsequent verification is - in my case - a very, very bad decision. For me, sav...

Re: [1.1.35] unable to save the map
Good advice, of course. but in the current configuration I have been playing for at least the last six months and several thousand hours, and the problems appeared on version 1.1.35, and as you can see from the forum at least two more players, so I tend to degrade the game in this version: (( I woul...

Re: [1.1.35] unable to save the map
This time I hit much stronger: (( Usually I make backups every 2-3 days, this time I only had a ten-day copy dated June 26 :( (working and proven) This is a few hundred hours of play :) I don't know if it's the same error or not, but this time the map didn't load at all, I tried all three last copie...

Re: DeathWorld SpeedRun
I play in the Death World Marathon. Pure vanilla by default everything and without any mods. I'm probably a Slowpoke, but I managed to launch the rocket only 98 hours from the start of the game. Of this time, 90 hours, I fought with biters and spitters, and only a tenth was spent on the construction...

Re: [1.1.35] unable to save the map
So this is not an error, but quite a common occurrence :) The main thing is that it does not happen so that none of the last three saves will load :) I already sometimes double-check what I have written, but for me it is somewhat tedious, because the full cycle (saving with subsequent loading) is 20...
