Re: Newbie in need

^^^

My science production lines have been dead for probably 30+ hours after running out of science 2 things.

Re: Newbie in need

An addendum to the smelting: Processed -> molten -> plates is about a 2x improvement, but a stack that runs a single casting unit at full throughput will consume an inconvenient amount of borax. The next step of Processed -> iron grade 1 -> dust -> pulp & slime looks like it might be out of reac...

Re: bug and suggestions

It does seem slightly inconsistent that zinc is the only ore->grade 1 that uses an additional ingredient.

If you want it to stay that way for flavor or to have it be a tad more difficult than the rest, perhaps a smelter recipe to make sticks straight from molten iron at a more efficient rate?

Re: [MOD 0.16] Deadlock's Stacking Beltboxes (& Compact Loaders)

I cooked up a local mod to do some of these things last night, targeted at pymods. The approach I went with was to only hit a particular set of recipes, and only affect inputs that are stackable and a multiple of the stack size. Rationale was entity reduction, but still leaving the need to stack thi...

Re: Py and 0.17

The circuit and science recipe changes from PyHT are intimidating. Far above and beyond what even the Circuit Processing stuff does in SeaBlock. There is a gigantic wall at circuit 2 built from the bodies of those that have tried and been found wanting. It's been a while since I mixed them, but the ...

Re: Pyblock Letsplay

It does unfortunately.

Tonight was scrambling around trying to fix a borax shortage, I now have basic nexelit and oil products, though it looks like a single ground borer won't be enough yet. Looks like things are starting to move enough again that I can ramp that up though...

Re: Pyblock Letsplay

I think that requires science 3, and thus circuit 2, though I will double check that. Silicon is doing a decent job for now, aside from another pile that is in an inconvenient place. So many things yet to do, chromium processing, zipir reefs, and either an alternative for organic solvent or start du...

Re: Pyblock Letsplay

Fresh update: No pics for now unless someone asks. Main additions: Molten lines for iron and aluminum, and the iron mine output got dedicated to a molten iron->steel->plates line. Should have done that a long time ago. Sand clogged up with the science lines shut down (glass overflowed), so it is dum...

Re: pY Industry - Discussion

There is an issue with the void recipe creation that pops up from time to time. If the original item has an icon_size less than 32x32, adding the void icon on top will trigger load errors. This usually comes up with invisible helper entities. I've been working around it by assigning a bogus fuel_val...

Re: [MOD 0.16] Miniloader

The fuel value hack should be harmless, since it's probably also flagged as non-minable, non-removable, etc

Re: Pyblock Letsplay

Was out of town for a week, nice job on getting past the initial science hump. https://imgur.com/gallery/Y66J6f1 has the highlights from a couple of evenings of improvements. Not too much visible, it's been a lot of slow repiping, belt threading, a power crisis, a couple of bottleneck unclogs, and a...

Re: [MOD 0.16] Miniloader

Finally home and looked over what was happening for me: pyindustries sweeps through a bunch of categories, creating void recipes for them. In particular, it does ammo, armor, capsule, gun, item, mining-tool, and module. When it creates the recipe, it clones the icons table into a new one, adds the v...

Re: [MOD 0.16] Miniloader

I ran into that one a lot while adapting seablock mining over for pyblock. The root cause turned out to be pycoalprocessing doing some naughty things when making the void recipes for the invisible beacon entity it used. I forget the exact fix at the moment, but if you haven't found one in another 6 ...

Re: Pyblock Letsplay

tl;dr: Iron will be relatively plentiful after the initial startup, copper will be as well until duralumin unlocks. Chromium will back up heavily. A rough guess as to how my current run (~50 lazy hours so far) went: QoL mods involved are Deadlock's stacking, crating, and compact loaders, LongReach, ...

Re: Pyblock Letsplay

about 2/3 of the way through the video so far, immediate comments: the confusion bit halfway in where it looked like the furnace wasn't running is due to the burner inserter taking longer to insert scrap iron than it takes to smelt it, so the furnace goes inactive until it gets more after you resear...

Re: PyBlock (alpha)

Things there get a lot better once you find a tree or garden bush -- those give you arboretums for direct raw wood production, and farm products that can be processed into cellulose and oil. Trees are easier, but you only get a set number of arboretums per tree you find, whereas farm capacity has a ...
