Don't rain on his creation. I like the belt setups and the well thought design. Very neat and straight forward.

Re: Friday Facts #74 - The brainstorming
This idea of space market keeps springing up, but what's the point of a space market in the context of Factorio? Why would trade be so important? You get all the resources you need on your planet, you don't need to buy iron or copper from other players. You also don't need subproducts like advanced...

Cars on Belts - Not just a highway
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTMjxUINNqs Video for sights & insights. Concept: Since vehicles are moved by belts, use belts to move cars. Create stations that will block the cars to be unloaded, trains are the only option that moves and is timed. Alternative would be to fill belt with cars, ...

Re: Friday Facts #74 - The brainstorming
I was mainly hoping for an EVE like market end game. Where you build up your factory to supply a galactic market system, building space ships to haul your goods to more & more markets. The end game would be nearly endless as you struggle to meet such massive demands that eventually your computer...

Re: Friday Facts #74 - The brainstorming
The space part of the game sounds like something I'll do once to beat the game and never want to do again. It just feel so against the grain of the main part of the game, a huge sprawling factory becomes a cramped space platform for an even more cramped ship that will just succeed or fail? I suppose...

Re: Friday Facts #73 Minds versus bytes.
I mean no insult to the devs, they've made a game that only in alpha is by far my favorite game of all time. I'll playing this game for the rest of my life and I'm willing to devote my own personal time & energy into sharing that passion with others so maybe they can find some love for it as wel...

Re: Friday Facts #73 Minds versus bytes.
My thoughts: I was in love with the wealth idea. You land on an alien world to mine, pollute, and build to sell off to make you dirty filthy stinking rich. (a little role playing here :P) This space game part is different. You struggle to survive only so you can struggle to save people who've been t...

Re: Belt rebalancer is not your friend
I have one issue with your tests, the turns that you put to compare to the straight track is more comparing unnecessary turns versus a straight belt, which will always lose. You should either make the straight track longer to account for the extra belt length you're adding to do the turns. I would b...

Re: Science Pack Redo - What would you do?
Well, in a way, but you don't insert anything, it would be akin to a software update. The labs test ways to do things, each round at a lab is a different method, and then it finds which one does the best and enables the player's crafting and buildings' ability to produce the goods that were the focu...

Science Pack Redo - What would you do?
Science packs feel weird when they're crafted from metals, parts, and alien orbs. I just don't think doing science really fits with a resource hungry capitalistic business. They're cheap, but demand a lot. So you get simplistic, but highly capable construction suit capable of self upgrading from a l...

Re: [0.11.11 ..] Inserter stuck due to inserter size bonus
yeah, I'm having this issue trying to build rocket defense. It keeps grabbing more than there's room for and gets stuck because the stack size is equal to the required recipe. Either inserters need to be smarter about filling to stack cap or all recipes should not require more then the stack cap min...
