Re: Barreling/Unbarreling recipes need larger output buffer

Where is the amount of items in a buffer stored? Is it a per-recipe number?

+1 on this, or some other way to reliably filter different fluid types.

Re: A new belt and tracking system.

Vacuum belts is good but it still renders the objects.

Could "covered" belts use the underground belt system for their length to save ups?

Yeah, that would be simpler! Oh well. I guess I went for the complicated answer first.

Re: [Request] buffer combinator

Ah, I'm not familiar with the modding mechanics so I didn't know this wasn't doable. It seemed trivial in my head.

Inline 4-lane splitter-based filter with no backing up.

So, in case you have a design with multiple arbitrary items going down the same 4 lane bus, allow me to present a full-throughput compact filter using the new splitter mechanics. [edited because as soon as I posted this I saw that it was using too many splitters and could be made simpler) splitfilte...

Re: Separate signals to/from red and green wires

They're two different signals. We're not talking about outputting each from the wire with 1000 wood on it. We're talking about measuring a signal on one wire and using it to make decisions about signals on another wire. In order to do that at present you need isolating buffers and chains of combinat...

Re: Transferring tasks between normal and personal roboport

From how I understand the logistic system, it hunts down a list of available robots and assigns jobs to the nearest one. Could there be an option to exclude "personal roboport network" or "everything except the personal roboport network" on a per blueprint level? Or is that too d...

Another thing: this idea not doable with current implementation, easily done with separate outputs. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=57820

Re: [Request] buffer combinator

I'm not sure if the devs would want to do it in vanilla, after all it's not really adding any more functionality per se.

Re: Separate signals to/from red and green wires

All of this for the simple fact you want to set one combinator less for the rare case you want to multiply two virtual signals of the same type coming along two wires? Trust me, it's not "one combinator" fewer. If you're trying to do feedback loops and comparisons of different stock level...

Re: Transferring tasks between normal and personal roboport

I'd rather the opposite. I hate having my personal bots get used for every job, especially deconstruction of belts where you end up with loads of ore dumped into your inventory.

Indicator light on combinator

TL;DR, what, and why A settable coloured LED on combinators so that you can see what's going on in your programs. That's it. Use cases Set all combinators on a particular circuit to one colour so you can follow the signal path. Set all combinators that do the same thing to the same colour so you ca...

[Request] buffer combinator

Simple QOL request: a combinator that simply passes the input to the output. Perhaps with a single toggle to invert the signal. This is trivially doable in game at present with an arithmetic combinator. Either do "each * 1 output each" or "each * -1 output each." This mod would a...

Re: Separate signals to/from red and green wires

I think the suggestions I made in this thread fit. https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=57668 Extra colour wires for channels and a multicore cable. Combine this with picking in/out and you can set up signal "busses" to keep track of stock and other signals. I think this is ...

Re: Blocking a lane on a belt

Underground belt lane splitting, anyone else hate it? Actually, I like it very much. What I do not like, are the new splitters, because they make many brilliant designs obsolete and trivialize some challenges. As logistic bots does. Now I just see no point of using most of ballancers or stack filte...

Re: MOAR WIRES

Absolutely (I use each * 1 output each as a buffer but it's the same thing). Most stuff is *doable* if you add enough combinators and poles. The issue is that you can't necessarily see what's going on. Cables can be pretty hard to read, especially when they overlap, and the problem solving bit can g...
