Re: Friday Facts #308 - Not stable quite yet
Man I love the Nauvis Collapse map! I'm running a password-protected Multi-player, and it's a beast to host. Takes people minutes to join (I have gigabit to my house) and it's running in a separate process on my desktop (iMac Pro). I might start over now that I know a few things (like the electricit...

And the 0.17.41 is 404-not-found, while .40 is still posted and bad (at least from my region of the world).

[0.17.40] macOS download is bad, 124MB
Automated upgrade failed, went to download from the web site, and the file is only 124MB in size and obviously doesn't work.

Re: When you spawn in an OARC ...
[Koub] Moved to Off topic BTW, what's exactly the point of your thread ? If you've played Factorio with the OARC multiplayer scenario, where you spawn in a protected island with starter resources, surrounded by a thin moat, this view might mean something. Factorio is now off topic? Or just fun Fact...

Yes, 0.17.24 links broken also. This is a CDN issue. Seems like they might want this to work.

Re: 0.17.23 download links broken
It's an IPv4 vs IPv6 thing: It's not just IPV6. I am building docker containers. My docker setup doesn't use IPV6 (the host has IPv6 but docker will only use ipv4 by default) dcdn.factorio.com has address 162.216.19.218 dcdn.factorio.com has address 45.56.70.196 When I build the container (which us...

Re: 0.17.23 download links broken
It may be related but the automated upgrade (I was on 0.17.21) to both .22 and .23 gave me errors multiple times, and then eventually took hold.
Running macOS version.
I can't upgrade my 3 headless Linux servers at the moment.

[0.17.24] and [0.17.23] download links broken
[Updated on Tues April 2]
Download links are variously broken depending on what CDN IP addresses you are getting. This is breaking automated Docker builds for various providers of container versions as well as for the people who use them.
Affects 0.17.24 and 0.17.23 links.

Re: Showing off new server
Here is my docker-compose.yml file for using the image by dtandersen. Note that this is not usable by itself, one has to set the environment variables accordingly. External to this I'm setting the CPU to get affinity on different physical cores just like suggested above. version: '2.2' services: fac...

Re: Showing off new server
I run Ubuntu 18.04 on an old Mac Pro (upgraded to 6-core Xeon). But all of my apps/games (including 3 Factorio servers) run in Docker containers. This way you don't care about glibc or whatever that are in the base OS. The container includes all possible libraries needed by the factorio executable. ...

Re: Is there any mods these days to allow people to spread out and play co-op doing rail systems?
OARC is one such scenario. It's named after the originator, Oarcinae, and he updates his scenario on Github at https://github.com/Oarcinae/FactorioScenarioMultiplayerSpawn It's going through some changes for 0.17 at the moment, and if you aren't familiar with Github (it's the dev_0.17 branch, not ma...
