Re: Opening the source?
One of the best modders (Rseding91) already has access to the source code. Post your ModAPI requests here . I did know that, what I meant was that global access to the source would mean that every modder requesting some addition to the ModAPI could code it themselves the way they needed it - given ...

Re: Crash on startup
Factorio is not known to work on the Intel(R) 965 Express Graphics Chipset (dated 2006). You can try to set the graphics quality to very low: graphics-quality=very-low in your config, which should be at C:/Users/sebastian/AppData/Roaming/Factorio/config/config.ini Should that work, it wouldn't look ...

Re: Opening the source?
I own a copy of Space Engineers and have used the programmable block ingame, which lets you code some small functions, or even complete mods, directly in the game (in C# with the provided library). I also read the blog post they made when making the source code of their game public, here's what I th...

Re: Blueprint: Better feedback
If you hold the SHIFT-key while placing your blueprint, it will ignore all obstructions and place all the entities it can place. Also consider that the player is an obstruction, too. If you want to see which obstruction causes the blueprint to fail, you can zoom out even further using the console: /...

As you mentioned you can use the F-keys. Using F4 you can set it to only enable the show_detailed_info when you press F5, resulting in this screen which shows your current position: http://i.imgur.com/0QHZ2G8.jpg You can also do so using the console, with these commands: /c game.player.print('x='..g...

Re: Add player fighting alert
If a player is damaged in multiplayer, the other players will get an alert: "1 objects are being damaged".
It's the same as if any other object would get damaged.
Should you manage to kill all the aliens before they are damaging you, then there is no reason to notify the other players.

The only idling I've encountered in the game is in the very early stages when you set up your first few burner miners and furnaces. Sometimes you just have to wait for resources there, or mine them by hand. If you're in mid- to end-game and idling you are not using your resources optimally. Example:...

Re: Lakes get smaller if overworked
I think that OP means that the lake will actually physically get smaller. meaning less water tiles and more ground tiles. Lakes are supposed to be (or expected to be) most deep at their center and the shorelines will give way to ground first. Offshore pumps can only be placed between water and groun...

E.g. take Copper and Iron to make the Yellow Inserters to make the Green Potions, instead of as usual first making use of the already-present Yellow Inserters. The problem I see here is: You don't want the yellow inserters you have being used to make the green potions, but do you want it to use the...

Not to say this shouldn't be in the game, but there's a mod that already lets you block one side:

Re: How do you remove items form the map
Items laying around you pick up with "Z" (at least in my locale/setup). the default keyboard settings are: - F for picking up items - Z for dropping items (you're holding) I assume you changed the assigned key because even other keyboard layouts use the same letter, just the key is on a d...

Re: Fullness indicator light on Chests
What is, when you set a stack-limit for the chest? Always relative to assigned capacity, e.g. if I close off all but 3 slots of a given chest, then it'll be green when 2 of those slots are full. Well, in that case it should be green when the 3rd slot is starting to get used (> 67% usage). But I thi...

Re: Player position affects biter attacks
When you say the results were always the same, do you mean that they were deterministically identical, or that there were small differences, but the ordering of which base was attacked most stayed the same? Do you have your full results recorded? (Of course if they were deterministically identical ...
