Basic logic network.
I think that the smart devices should be delayed in the tech tree and that there should be some more basic logic devices as an intermediate technology. There are also some situations where a simpler logic network would be much nicer to use then the smart network. My idea: - Simple logic wires , each...

Re: What are the most time-consuming operations?
I think that the only parts of the game that feel slow are: 1. Hunting for Alien gear. ( Bascially fixed by the new larger Alien bases) 2. The real beginning until you have all your mines linked to your furnaces. ( Could be fixed by giving the player starting resources ) 3. Hunting for more basic re...

Re: Idea: Factories
Well.. he hasn't excluded furnaces, as long as the factory module has a chimney. I was thinking more of a railway station building. Tracks are just so enormously large in the game. You probably mean "assembling machines so small compared to the rest" (even those trains are pretty small co...

Re: Idea: Factories
I don't like this, because it screws up the scale of the game even more. The factory itself is much too small in a normal game. At least how I am playing. When I get a factory of size 1, then I have the following areas roughly: 1 part Factory. 1 part Smelting. 1 to 2 parts mine. 4 parts power genera...

Re: Home sweet home
I think the house could be upgraded by inserting resources.
Just like the supply level, only without the time limit. This could give a nice high score condition.

Re: Thoughts Graphs and Charts.
Na, they make total sense for me. You can see, when coal begins to run out or when you reached enough green bottles, that it is enough for the rest of the game. I would like to have statistics for all things in the game. How many assemblies built, how many creepers killed, etc. First you will ignor...

Re: Version 0.5.2
I just noticed that the improved inserter take several units when taking directly from a assembler to another assembler.
Is that a bug or a feature? Though, except for wires I can't think of an use for this.

Thoughts Graphs and Charts.
I think those charts you can see for your electricity network are awesome. I want more of those. For the electric chart: What will be really useful is a chart of the stored accumulator energy. Also I do think that the Accumulators charging should be included as a negative source instead of as a load...

Re: Car needs to be 100% stoped to dont get any damage
I also have that same problem.
When I try to get out of the car, half a second before it has fully stopped my health drops to a quarter.
I don't remember this happening that often before 5.0.

Re: More access to the logistics information
- You store that. This means, that you have to built it before. This means, that you need resources for that. And the resources are then not there for other, more important things. - it takes long to store and unload an item with the l-robots. In this time I could begin to produce it and will have ...

Re: More access to the logistics information
So you use inserters from the belt directly into storage chests? Ok. I would expect to just use providers and requesters and not use storage in this case. It probably works well until you want to store more then 1 full chest. I do like to store those pesky intermediate products ( circuits, wheels, s...

Re: More access to the logistics information
I don't actually want to put a wire on every second power pole in my factory, in order to wire that up. And I don't like finding that fault in case I accidentally break it. I think I know what you mean. There are those long distant cables you lay, from chest to chest... I think, it's not a good ide...

Re: More access to the logistics information
I saw that the logistics chests now display the items available to the network. It would be nice if we had an logistics inserter, which could be programmed to insert on conditions of items in the logistics net. Also, while at it, I do think that the conditions for requester chests and inserters sho...

Re: [5.0] Logistics chests have negative values
I had a similar issue in 5.1. When a chest had only one item in it, and a bot with upgraded storage got tasked to pick it up. Then the counter ( I don't remember if it was logistics amount or wire amount) changed from 1 to -2. Edit: I remembered wrong. Just reproduced it: http://youtu.be/UTzIL_lV2JQ...

Re: Turning steam engines automatic on, if needed
I just implemented this for my factory. http://minus.com/lbkka3f4wvpb0X I used a substation for the separate network. The relay cap gets discharged slightly faster then the normal caps, because it drives the inserter along with the other stuff. You can adjust the leftover charge in the main caps whe...

Re: Turning steam engines automatic on, if needed
Looks nice. I will try testing this myself.
Maybe you should put the smart coal inserters directly at the furnace. That would save on the belts and coal.

Should it work under linux? It doesn't for me.kovarex wrote: Edit: The updater from 0.5.0 -> 0.5.1 can't be used, as we forgot to distinguish between win32 and win64 identification of the binary while searching for packages.
