What if I - as curious as I be - cut the logistic network into two parts while the bot fulfill the requests? Which of the reserved items in the chests can then be fulfilled and what to do if not? "cleaner bot" is too obscure. I do see what you want, but still it is hard to understand what is the item on the ground. Difference from item on belt? This is clearly defined. An item on ground is not on a belt. :) BTW: An item is not an entity. Everything, which can be into stacks are it...

I thought we where at a point, when we said, that normal recycling never can bring back 100% of invested material, because of the modules. Only with the modules you might gain a small (!) advantage in the resources (5%?), but compared to the invested resources this is ok, I think.

Cleaner Bots and ground as storage

Hm, serialization, yes. But isn't that just stupid copy&paste? Get all information about the piece of map, go through the structures and translate X to Y. :) And I repeat: basically a blueprint is nothing else in my eyes... and the first use of that would be to test if the copy behaves identical...

Ok. I see. :) yes, this is much better... Then I would make a generator, which I can use to generate a lua program. Some function, input are coordinates of the map and output is a lua function, which generates that at other coordinates and eventually handles also the change in orientation or mirrori...
