Re: End-game mech

Turret creep with artillery is the current pinnacle of automated termination. If you count your time as resource (and you certainly should, it is less replaceable than anything else), not dealing with the biters and just hammer them with a 28,3cm/L76 is the most efficient way. Alas, this is a game, ...

Re: How long will it be allright?

Too much is never enough. Do you feed the steel array from the iron one or does it have its own iron smelting in front of it? It does seem a bit small either way, especially the iron and copper. Quadruple it, maybe more. YMMV, I don´t know your factory. otoh, as long as the bus is full, who am I to ...

Picks up jaw, re-attaches to face. 7x3, tileable. I do not understand how disentius desgin works (which tells me I have not grasped the true potential of the new splitters as well), but I feel it might be more tolerant to the startup phase as it priorizes 235 into its own, closed loop. I rea...

Stacking it 2x3 instead of 1x5 will save you 6 Beacons plus their modules for the price of some extra belt.

The uneven heating of the outside damages the surprisingly delicate equilibrium of the furnace, damaging the structure and causing it to collapse.

Keep in mind the operating system happily burns away another core (or two), so less than four (physical) cores might be too little.

You do retain the perfect ratio, no matter how many blueprints you put down. Personally, I do like to have some spare capacity "just in case" but ymmv.

Re: Friday Facts #270 - HR Substation & Save/Load overview

I fail to see the point of penalizing electricity distance by the number of poles used. As the wire is isolated against the pole anyway the current does not really care about passing above an isolator. Technically, there is no limitation against putting 110kV on a line of wooden masts. It will turn ...

otoh, it is always good to know it is not me being too stupid to build a proper blueprint, so thanks for sharing your pain.
I, for one, build all the corners by hand and take the train grid for reference. So far, it has come out nicely (my nice, not yours :P ) using a medium pole in the corners.

Most of the stuff is self explaining, items also have pop up infoboxes. Concerning item production, you just have to add ingrediends to assembly machines and move these products to other machines. (And then rebuild the entire thing as it does not scale and you need waaaaay more of x than you expecte...
