Re: Are there any flaws with this station design?

That would actually be really cool. I've had ideas of having several large stations a ways out from my base where lots of small ore trains go, then fill up one or two big trains to go to one main station, but if you could simply couple them together instead of having to unload and re-load the bigger...

Re: assembler barrel intake

Honestly I fail to see why anyone would say barrels are not useful..... ... Barrels are awesome because they are compact, logistically sanguine and offer a whole host of logistically intricate and unusual arrangements. Just lately a friend of mine made a 32 core nuke plant which can only function a...

Re: Logistics net: Less research needed

I think, like it looks like many other do, that this isn't a good position for bots. Unfortunately, there aren't any solutions that please everyone. Moving research up would make bots OP, moving them down would make everyone have a giant belt base before using bots, and keeping it how it is makes ve...

Re: compact expandable train waiting area

Of course I come across this right after building my 1-4-1 stacker :). I think this is probably the most compact possible stacker. I'll keep this design in mind for future use, and possibly even replace my old one.

Philosophy- Which is larger: a book or a universe?

A book can fit inside a universe and a universe can fit inside a book.

This is really, really off- topic, but I thought it would be interesting to see what people would say.

Difference between outbox and sent messages? (PMs)

As the titles states: I sent someone a private message. It has been in my outbox for a day or two now. Shouldn't it have moved to sent messages? I do not know if it has been received.

Re: Invent the World Testing Server

I haven't played the server yet (I'm just about to get on) but I am insulted at the fact that you think it will take 6 hours for 8-12 year olds to build red science. I got the game when I was 12, and I built red science much quicker than that. Then again, I may have watched a few a lot of youtube vi...

Re: Your Logistic Robots Are Broken! [Forum Game]

Unfortunately, the bots' batteries were damaged. Trying to fix them with the gears and circuits from the repair packs electrocuted all your bots, damaged and (previously) undamaged, except one which I now call upon to bring me some batteries to fix the other bots.

Re: [0.15.9] Small biter got stuck during it's attack

Hi, I have a similar problem in the latest version (15.23), where a biter stuck in a forest moves in an endless loop for 1+ hours. This persists after reloading the game. Save, and log are attached. I'll attach a quick video in a minute or two.

Re: Electric Pole costs

He brings up a valid point, and the goal is to make it so that all options are at least somewhat equal based on you playstyle. If it is balanced right, people will neither think it needs to be nerfed or buffed. If you want to disagree, please do it civilly so it actually add something to the discus...

Re: Electric Pole costs

I can see where you're coming from, however I think you missed a few key points: - Using substations or larger power poles significantly reduces the amount of poles you have to place, reducing the amount of bots you need or time you have to spend which could be used elsewhere - As stated elsewhere, ...

Re: Simple Questions and Short Answers

Hi! Is there any method to disallow drones to travel outside of the construction area of roboports? It's annoying that a lot of drones are destroyed by biters who are in an area what i not cleaned because i don't want to use and than it's unnecessary to waste resources on it. I use modded Factorio ...

Re: Dont read this

I am reading this because you did a very poor job of preventing people from reading it. If you really wanted to prevent people from reading it, you would put it on a combinater display in Factorio, inside an account with a (2^64)-1 digit password not connected to the internet or any network. You sho...

Re: How about using it in the classroom?

It doesn't look like anyone has mentioned ratios yet, which seems like the most obvious part to me. In other words: outsource the design of a, say, 1 rpm factory to your students so you don't have to do all the math yourself. ;) Unfortunately, this seems way too easy for grades 9-12, but perhaps as ...
