Re: Friday Facts #279 - Train GUI & Modern Spitter
I'm with Factorio for a while now. I used trains and circuits heavily. I used train delivered blueprints for recursive blueprints (delivering one piece of another good to identify the blueprint at the station). I made a rail network with all stations having the same name and all trains having the s...

Re: Friday Facts #279 - Train GUI & Modern Spitter
I never ever had a case in my entire Factorio life in which something like this was even remotely needed: (A & (B | C) & D) | (E & F) | G I have needed (A | B) & (C | D). I can use distributive law and get A&C | A&D | B&C | B&D, but it is annoying to feed with curren...

I never ever had a case in my entire Factorio life in which something like this was even remotely needed: (A & (B | C) & D) | (E & F) | G I too have never had anything remotely this complex. In fact, I have once in my entire Factorio life thought "I wonder how the game will parse t...

Re: Better Splitting Settings
There is a solution for this: Use a 1:3 splitter and combine 2 of the outputs.
This, of course, is more than 1 entity.
I believe it's the fun part of factorio to figure this out and design your own solution.

Re: So how's your OCD doing?
So chunks are 32 tile wide and large power poles span 30 tiles. If you place a large pole on one edge of a chunk and go as far as you can before placing the next it will just reach the other side of the chunk. What this means is if you want chunk aligned rail AND you want your large poles on their ...

Re: Friday Facts #278 - The new quickbar
Am I the only one who prefers having a toolbelt over a quick bar? Aside from a handful of common items, what I have in my toolbelt changes all the time. It's not as if I'm walking around like a robot placing the same stuff over and over again. I craft a machine and place it, add the common support ...

Re: Tank Ins and Outs -- Is there a better way?
The OP's design is far from being ideal.
Tank-tank connections are terrible re throughput.
In fact, everything except tank-pump or pump-tank is to be avoided.
However, everything will change in a few weeks.
So let's wait and see.

Is there any way to use buld planner, when your logistic network is already up and working? I try to plan rebuld of my factory, but my drones builds faster than I plan. Removing all constructor drones from all cosmoports and putting them to the chest while planning -- is not a great idea... The ans...

Re: About pollution and green mods
In vanilla, I have never found a use for a "green" approach. Reducing the number of attacks by producing less pollution would just cost less energy. Firstly, because green modules not only reduce the pollution but also the energy consumption; and secondly, because your laser turrets will b...

Re: Simple Questions and Short Answers
Did you replace also the active provider chests at the ore-delivery? Remove some of plates/ores and the problem should go away then. As soon as all bots have delivered their stuff, the system should run smoothly with just passive providers and requester chests. No need for storage boxes, either. BTW...

Dear Wube-team! Thanks for this great game. You are, by objective measures (richness of FFF, number of posts in the forum, modding support, etc.), very close to the communitiy. After reading this thread I feel obliged to appologize for some of the responses that come from the community. Some ppl her...

Re: Fuels and their uses
BTW, I in fact use solid fuel for power generation as soon as I enter oil-age. I have a coal loop servicing the furnaces in my base. I insert the excess solid fuel from light oil into that loop and add a 20-boiler power plant or two. With some solid fuel in the mixture the initial coal reserves last...
