Re: Train repeating signal
You can ride them without driving them. ;) Anyway, point I was trying to make with the blocks being of variable size is that a train can take more than a couple blocks to stop if the blocks are set small enough, meaning being warned what the next block’s signal is may not be enough. How quickly a tr...

Re: Eliminate mod selection GUI useless click
I am positively awful at GIMP, which I really wish worked like MS Paint (how does anyone learn that thing!? I should really just install wine and use actual Windows 95 MS Paint, my needs would be much better served by it). Off topic... I’ve never used GIMP so don’t know how this compares, but have ...

Re: [Poll] 0.17 Quickbar
I’m somewhere around meh/usable. I do like that it remembers what was in the slot kind of like setting a filter and, as mentioned by someone else (but I haven’t had the chance to find it yet myself), you can set ghosts for something despite not having any of the item. That said, I do wish we could s...

Re: [MOD 0.13.17+] Rampant - 0.17.26
Is it possible to have the biters avoid running enmass all through a simple line of fire? Not asking for them to be made afraid of it (well, maybe afraid if it’s essentially an inferno)/completely unable to walk through it, but maybe somehow make them less likely to want to path through? What I’m se...

Re: Train repeating signal
The problem does apply to players in trains, not AI. While this is true, the size blocks that a player can place vary in size. Plus would this essentially be another item that you’d have to lay down at every signal so that you can have your whole line covered? It’s better not to drive manually on a...

Re: Fluid fueled locomotives?
I've had some success. Changed the pumps into storage-tank and then removed the input/output designations on the pipe connections. There is now fluid flowing in, so that's progress.

Re: Geothermal - A clean, but powerful power source all day long
Well whatever the case I can't get them spawn reliably to be worth the trouble. Even making the whole map volcanic/arctic isn't a sure thing. They don't show on the preview map when they do spawn which doesn't help things. Guess I'll stick with the usual power sources, thanks anyway. Do you have an...

Re: Fluid fueled locomotives?
Hi ownlyme, thanks for the reply! I gave both the energy_source.type = "void" and removing the "placeable-off-grid" a try to see if they'd help and I couldn't see any effect. I'm not sure about defining more connection points? It seems like there were 243 pump variations defined ...

Re: Geothermal - A clean, but powerful power source all day long
Hi Reika, I've reloaded this mod recently to try using again (it was conflicting with another mod). First, I wanted to say thanks for including the additional settings for controlling the frequency, etc of the geothermal vents. That said, would it be possible for you to expand the minimum values or,...

Ok, thanks. I was searching for underground pipe and splitter originally, so didn't find that post.

[0.17.50] Underground pipe appears on top of splitter
See the attached image. Does it to belts (when running directly at/away from the pipe), underground belts, and splitters of all three variants. Everything else that I tested it against seems fine. Obviously this is a minor thing, but just wanted to point it out. :) EDIT: Oh, lol, and just noticed to...

Re: 0.17 Laser turret shooting speed
So yeah, if you want to be realistic, scrap laser turrets and put more focus on physical projectiles (I think I'd like that). Laser turrents are pretty much only ruled by the rule of cool. Edit: Talking about realistic: Might as well introduce grenade turrets and rocket turrets too and make a big t...

Fluid fueled locomotives?
Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew if with the changes in 0.17 if the concept of liquid/diesel powered trains was a little easier to achieve? I've been working on updating evildogbot100's Diesel Locomotive mod for personal use but have run into trouble with the pumps he had setup for taking the flui...

Re: [MOD 0.16.x] Realistic Power
Hi, I recently found your mod and was wondering on the reasoning behind slashing the fuel value of things like wood, coal, etc (not solar, I understand the solar). I've been thinking about doing something similar, but as I was looking into it, I was looking at making 1 unit in game the equivalent of...

+1 on this. As OP stated, it would help eliminate some of the micromanaging that goes with upgrading some things (like ammo or fuel).

Re: Return the object avoidance mode for ghost rail building
In some way, bring back the object avoidance ghost mode for the rail builder removed in 0.17.29. Still hoping for this. If holding shift to get the current, post 0.17.29 behavior was not intuitive to players, then instead of removing the feature, why not simply switch the modes so holding shift was...

Re: Question - Is Inserter item drop position intuitive?
So I've given you three explanations I see two straightforward rules: 1) Select farther side - if this is not enough, then 2a) for straight belts select right side 2b) for curved belts select inner part of the curve (if possible - must still be on farther side) That's all. That’s actually 3, too, b...

Re: Respect Windows Storage Paths
@Eradicator, Your post is a little confusing to me. You say you expect the data (including saves) to be in one location (My Documents), but then it seems like you're bashing the MS Docs for saying the saves should be in hidden folders (which I don't think is what they're saying) and then conclude th...
