Re: Tileable nuclear design 3040MW+n*3200MW

Below there are pictures of unit stacked from _two_ 2x4 setup tiles. To pipe water to more than 2 units you need some fiddling with underground pipes and moving turbines further away, but it's entirely doable. Re: Chunk-aligned modular railway system with LTN Stations

I really like these designs, so much easier if you can change a curve/straight into a juntcion without changing anything. How well does the station designs work with vanilla? Would they work even without the mod? I might take your blueprints and remove the LTN parts, so I don´t want to ruin anythin...

Re: Chunk-aligned modular railway system with LTN Stations

Big thanks from me for refining the system! I did not have the patience to make straight rails and T intersections be pastable on each other and I'm glad it works now. I personally did not use the curved piece but it's great to have it. Does it paste over with T intersection too? The pedestrian cros...

There are some problems with Factorio on ARM, devs stated that it's non-trivial to compile on ARM.

Would there be a net gain if you burned that rocket fuel instead of burning coal? My calculations show true, how is it?

Re: Chunk-aligned modular railway system

Can you elaborate on why chunk alignment is relevant here? What will go wrong if I use your system but just offset everything by 3 tiles east and 7 tiles north? Nothing, it will work just as well as long as you keep the offset on every chunk the same. The deal is, if you chunk-align it, you can sta...

Re: Complete 2-Lane system as a Blueprint-Book! Suggestions?

Have you heard of chunk-aligned railways? Makes it way easier to plan stuff, I've made proof of concept (viewtopic.php?f=194&t=41486) but it certainly needs some polish :)

Re: How to change world gen of existing save? Or copy+paste base

The easiest method is probably to just use blueprints. Blueprint the whole base, paste it into the new world and cheat in the resources to build it. Needs some elbow grease but I don't know if there's a mod for that.

Dave, you are totally no fun. N1X1S, if you ask nicely (I recommend irc) devs might tell you a thing or two. They are very fun people and generally open and not under any strong NDA as far as I know :)

Re: Friday Facts #189 - Specifying the 1.0

I'd love to see quickstart with robots (basically what you've written; personal roboport + armor + fusion reactor + 50 robots) in the core game - not for "special gameplay mode" but rather normal start. After enough time you get tired of building everything by hand in the early game.

Accus and solar panels are very well optimized. Bots are OK. Belts are not. Remove all belts for performance and it should be ok :)

3d artist, Factorio needs you!

Why is Factorio development going so slow? Why .15 was so delayed? The main reason as I understand it is lack of 3d artistic workforce. They team is hiring all the time and it's in our best interest that they have found somebody. And what job could possibly be better than developing Factorio? So, if...
