Re: Friday Facts #128 - Back down to earth
I don't have the time to read everyone else's opinions right now but here are my thoughts: Use the loader or a similar entity to fill and empty trains or other large containers. Suppose that the loader needs enough items to pull from so that it may fill at least half a belt or so. This would restric...

Re: What are your thoughts on death in single player?
I did understand what you had in mind, but "punitiveness" of a death should imho not be "artificial". I mean, if it's just for punition, why not divide all the items collected or built in the map by 2, or destroy randomly buildings in the map ? Besides, you don't research by you...

Re: What are your thoughts on death in single player?
Losing some research in the tech tree would be interesting as well... Honestly, I think this a bad idea : there is no way to explain why you would de-research come already searched science upon death. My idea was that if you're in the act of researching it, dying makes you lose your hard earned yet...

I think that respawning without your items like it's in multiplayer is a good solution. Losing some research in the tech tree would be interesting as well...

Re: Version 0.12.22
Why don't the devs stay how they are currently and release as they feel it's stable... However, instead of having large patches separated by periods of inactivity, add the features individually as they're ready. I'm suggesting to do without the forced schedule which has hurt other games, but instead...

Re: Crashing into Gates
Oh I had never seen those articles before! I assumed that this was just an edge case where the calculations were off for some reason... Ok, keep the gates how they are now, and maybe make it so that adding speed modules and perhaps power consumption will "supercharge" them so that they ope...

Re: Crashing into Gates
Well if I remember correctly the idea with gates was that they predicted your movements so that you never had to wait on them? In my opinion everything should be standardized. Either the gates always open in time, or you wait for half a second for them to open. This seems comparable to the anomaly w...

Crashing into Gates
You have to do it just right, but trying to enter a gate from the side when you have been accelerating on concrete in a perpendicular direction will make you hit the gate. I believe that it has to do with the concrete speed bonus (which is why it is easier to recreate with cars but sometimes happens...

[0.12] [cube] Crash when changing wifi while downloading world
When I change my wifi connection while downloading the map for multiplayer factorio crashes. I have not throughly tested it as I don't want to get banned but the log is attached. I would expect normal behavior to be for the download to pause while the wifi switches and timeout if it doesn't resume w...

Re: [0.12.20] Low bandwidth of the small pump
If you want more water to be able to pass, put many of them in a row and connect the entrances/exits with the one water pipe. This is just a limitation that water pumps have had for as long as I can remember...

Re: Friday Facts #123 - Better circuit network (Part 2)
Wait, so will we finally have something along the lines of "wait until full" for trains?
Also, will combinators be staying in the game?

Re: Level 3 Module Oddity
Good points everyone.
I started this topic just to see if there was any "official" explanation for the modules being priced differently; now I guess that it was just a choice that the devs made to help balance the game.
