Re: infinite research cost and effect (math!)

mining productivity 1 needs {750,250} ore, not {2250,750}. short answer: less than 38% cost of rocket+satellite. at mining prod1, for every 102 ore used, u "pay" for 100 ore and 2 ore come for free. for every x ore used, u "pay" for (100/102)x ore and (2/102)x ore come for free. ...

Re: infinite research cost and effect (math!)

true that. normally i use prod3 on silo and labs (after that, top-down in production chain list). those usually are bottlenecked by input, so craft speed penalty isnt a penalty at all. furthermore prod has greatest effect (discount) on high end product. on the other hand, miners and pumpjack are bot...

Re: infinite research cost and effect (math!)

@FasterJump: sp have different length of stages and prod module can be used by some product while not by others, math become very messy.
and i said that im too lazy, its just a rough estimate (or upper bound).

Re: infinite research cost and effect (math!)

@d4rkpl4y3r: im a stupid LOL... thanks @Cerulean: actually 1000 crude oil is equal to 1800 heavy oil, not 555. also the conversion is valid as in long term average, when LOTS of different liquid come and go. to further convince u or future reader, here is an example: if u are given 17000 oil and tas...

Re: infinite research cost and effect (math!)

@Ace_W: thanks~ @quinor: im too lazy for that, but rough estimate, u can place 4 prod3 to each sp(include silo, exclude satellite) and 2 prod3 in labs. so needed amount is reduced to (1 - .4)(1 - .2) = .48 1 / (1.4 * 1.2) = .595 (thanks to d4rkpl4y3r) , which means roughly 60% as much raw is needed....

Re: Darken miner on depleted deposit

I suggest you read Why ? because im lazy. :D i read that long ago, but thanks anyway. 5 clicks is still to much for too little feature. (honest, i can live without it ;)) but then u inspire me to add a link to the mod so future visitor can have a look and hopefully what u mentioned happens. so than...

Re: Darken miner on depleted deposit

I belive, You can connect light to them, that light when miner is depleted... i just tested and... u're right! one never stop learning. but then, its too troublesome for such a little thing to ask for, same for installing a mod. i admit this small feature is not a must have, but certainly nice to h...

Re: Friday Facts #191 - Gui improvements

I'm all for moving it into a tab, but, we still need a quick way of seeing which weapon we have equipped. I didn't make it very clear in FFF, you you can still see your active weapon and ammo, something like this, possibly attached to the quickbar: https://forums.factorio.com/download/file.php?id=2...

Re: uranium fuel value (math!)

oh gosh, what a mistake! now the numbers should divide by 10... what a bummer :( well i edit the numbers. now it doesnt look as pretty... thanks for pointing out the mistake tho. edit: @andrew, as for the energy cost, both fuel value and "crafting time" is divided by 10, so the ratio stays...

Re: uranium fuel value (math!)

@andrew, glad u like it. all the photos are from wiki (should something happen to the image link, this post will become a graveyard of dead link). as for energy cost, by including crafting time into the equation, we got https://wiki.factorio.com/images/thumb/Uranium-235.png/16px-Uranium-235.png = 15...
