Pick up a corpse, it would equip the best armor in the corpse rather than the worst. (this is particularly annoying) Open the corpse like a chest. Shift click on the armor you want, then control click on the empty slot. That's tricky, if you have to dodge worms & don't want to get locked-in by ...

I tested it: Same behaviour.
Don't think its an hardware issue

Playtime is quite massive: 19884:00:04 ( > 2.25 years)
EDIT: I guess playtime is related: 19884 hours is short before 2^32 ticks
4294944000 : 19884 hours
4294967296 : 2^32

There is separate achievements tracking for modded games, which is local (no steam involved). Console would disable that.

The funny thing, lasers are not very strong, but everybody uses them, because they are easy to handle and have a ton of range. I play the steam version of Factorio and steam still thinks the most recent version of the game is 1.1.27 from March 11. I have restarted steam and used the verify local game files several times. That's probably it. The damage researches are very steep sometimes. You can look how much percent damage you added in the tech tree or in bonus overview
