Re: Cant run factorio?
I think the game should run on your laptop as you hav two graphics cards. 1. Intel® HD Graphics 3000 2. NVIDIA® NVS™ 4200M (DDR3 512MB) Discrete Graphics with Optimus Now it is posible that when you start Factorio your Intel® HD Graphics 3000 is chosen instead of NVIDIA® NVS™ 4200M and since Intel® ...

Re: Desura
Just bumping this because, apart from really liking Desura (and therefore liking the idea of seeing Factorio on Desura), I think it might help get some more sales since Desura sells alpha funded games. I totaly agree with that. After my friend put his game (Projekt W) on Desura about three waks ago...

Re: Native Anger Level
I thought they increased by one each attack Ugh I forgot to mention that this is default behavior for last mission of Alpha game campaign. Not sure how creeper attack numbers are calculated in Freeplay. You could always check control.lua script for any level to see how it is done. BTW it is time fo...

If you are interest in seeing how many creepers could come in one wave check next thread where I have done some calculations of that (more than 700 after 50 attacks and way more than 2000 after 100 attacks):

Re: Mouse position
Working directly with mouse cursor is something I would like to avoid. You are right, especially if every mouse move would execute some LUA script as you can get great performance usage with this. As a workaround you could save mouse position at certain intervals (twice per second) into some variab...

Re: Awaited Indie Games Thread
Latest versions od Prison Architect have quite a few problems.
I still keep playing Alpha 9 for this matter. But othervise it is a great game with so lots of potential.

You can always limit theese advantages to Single Player for preventing cheating.ficolas wrote:I like the idea (beeimg per acount)
But there is a problem, the player could modify the game so its easier to him to archieve these goals, and get an advantage in mp, I wouldnt do this, but im sure thar somebody would.

Re: Native Anger Level
That is an excelent idea. This idea could lead to dynamic game dificulty which would acltually be afected by players decisions. While Factorio is a Sandbox based game, the current system for determining strenght of creeper atack forces the player to folow it blindly and hinders players creativity in...

Re: [Resolved 0.3.1] Executable's icon disappeared
The zip package doesnt. That is becouse ZIP package is intendet to be also used from thumb drives so it is up to you for creating necessary shortucts. Now you can find factorio icon in Factorio\Data\Core\Gprahics\Factorio.ico @Developers You might consider athleast moving factiorio.ico to the same ...

[0.5.1] Factorio hangs on initial loading screen - SOLUTION
Hi! A few days ago I downloaded Factorio ver. 0.5.1 and istalled the game. But I couldn't play it as the game always hanged at inital loading screen. Today I figured out why? Before updating from 0.5.0 to 0.5.1 I first uninstaled 0.5.0 and then manually removed Factorio folder which remaind due to s...

The installer now adds corect icon path for StartMenu shortcut but the game executable itself still doesn't contain icon in itself.ficolas wrote:This havent been fixed yet I think... at least it doesnt work for 0.5+

By adding this branch you basically enlarge the game by one quarter, add new tech level after coal to aim for, fix nonsense like coal car, and it should not be that hard to take more than a few days of work... Yes this would open the whole new brach to lots of new products. I would realy like that ...

Windows Version Microsoft Windows XP Professional Dodatek Service Pack 3 (Build 2600) DirectX Version 9.0c This caught my eye. Localization fallback to "non-engligh" ? :) Is that some unusual edition? No that is standard Windows XP with aditional SP3 instaled. It also uses Slovenian Langu...

Re: factorio crashes
The problem with CPU-Z is that it has some incopmpatibilities with some mainboard chipsets which can result in crashing the whole system. I would reather recomend using SiSoftware Sandra which like COU-Z can give you tons of information about your computer. I use SiSoftware Sandra a lot. I probably ...

OK let me ask you this thing: If the multiplayer gets implemented this moment waht will it offer? Posible benefits of multiplayer that I can think of at this stage: COOP play: - factories could be built faster. But once reaching certain size and development status it would all became uninteresting. ...

Re: Midterm goal
If funds weren't the main issue I would say stick with multiplayer first as it tends to bring in more players in the long run and makes the gameplay better than trying to tack it on later. I would definitly disagree with you on that. I don't think a game like minecraft would be the hit it is if it ...

Re: Version 0.5.1
I wonder about the performance implications. Will there be any way of snapshotting the game state, so the game can continue while the ZIP runs? You can always save savegame into memory first, and only then write it into the file or even comress it before writing in file. And since you are actuall w...

Re: Version 0.5.1
The prison architect guys just implemented a system where you can easily share maps with other players in-game. Something I like to do with the few available saves on these forums is to load them into the game and just walk around the unknown machine and watch it in action. They didn't develop this...

Re: [0.5.0] Terrain generator bugs
Inconsistent edges are caused by changes in the map generator between versions. Sorry about these, but there is no practical way to avoid them when changing the map generator. That will acount for generating new chuks on old maps but theese are ocuring even on brand new maps sometimes. And to me it...

Re: Diodes, Switches, other Electrical Apparatuses
Here is a simple solution. When you remove a pole other poles that has been conected to it automaticly check for available conections to other poles just as they do when you place them down. This will result in automatic rewireing. Problem solved :D Sounds like just another solution that prevents m...
