Re: [0.12.0] FPS/UPS Capping at 40 periodically - dual screen

OK so the hardware should not be the problem. Now when these slowdowns occurs is Factorio still the focused application? By default windows is allocating the most resources to the active (focused) application and less to the rest of them. meaning that if the focus would be in your browser the browse...

Re: Understanding Factorio Performance

Factorio only uses 1 cpu core. Your quad-core processor is stuck at 75% idle. WRONG! Multithreading was already implemented in Factorio 0.6.2 https://forums.factorio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1193&p=8336&hilit=multithreading#p8336 Now it is possible that if the OP was upgrading its ...

Re: only 50 FPS with vsync activated

Looking at your video it seems that the slowdowns are occurring when you are in vicinity of capacitors. In pervious versions of Factorio my game FPS dropped down to 15 if I had several charging or discharging capacitors in sight. So I suggest you do some more checking to see if the slowdowns are onl...

Re: [0.12.0] FPS/UPS Capping at 40 periodically - dual screen

We need more information in order to help you. First please specify your hardware configuration. Most importantly the which graphics card are you using. How are you achieving the dual desktop setup? Are you perhaps using VGA or DVI splitter? Are you using two separate display ports on your graphic c...

Re: Sound of my Washer by a Cleaning Task

Hi! I'm also doing the laundry myself so you are not alone. Now you say that your washing machine has turned into steam machine after heating up to 95°C. That should not have happened so you should consider contcting a repariman. I suspect three possible causes for this: 1. The door sealant might be...

Re: [0.11.19][slpwnd] Production window stats highly inaccurate

that should be less than ~2mb of data :) storing numbers is quite easy and efficient. About 140KB for each product. Multiply this with the number of vanilla products and you are already on 20MB. Then add all those new items from other mods and the amount isn't so small as it seemed in the beginning...

Wait are you saying that you store 36000 values (5s production productions) for each product so that you can calculate 50h average and draw that specific graph?

Re: [0.11.19][slpwnd] Production window stats highly inaccurate

How are these averages production values calculated? I hope you are not calculating average for longer period from multiple average values for shorter periods? If you are then this is the cause for wrong results. You should always operate on base data and not intermediate calculations when dealing w...

This is one of the best cartoon series out there, right after the original Tom & Yerry.

And if I'm not mistaken this series represents the first masive use of stop motion picture.

I would also recomend using Efficiency Modules https://forums.factorio.com/wiki/index.php?title=Module By putting two Level 1 Efficiency Modules in each of your mines your asemblers and your furnaces you can decrease their energy consumption by 60%. So on the scale of whole base this could result in...

Also as information to other current multiplayer versions are still treated as expirimental versions so you need to check "download expirimental version" in game options.

Re: Forum "remember me" not working?

I suggest you check you security settings again. It is posible that you set your settings in a way that all cokies gets deleted after you close your borwser. Also I'm not sure if Google Chrome does support something like this but Internet Explorer can treat different cookies in diferent ways. For in...

Re: The .zip download is bigger

At this moment I can't tell you exactly why is the file for ZIP version of Factorio bigger than the EXE version since I'm at work and can't test it out. But I gues this have to do first with the fact thatInstaller suite that was used for creating EXE version probably applies better compresion as the...

Re: Does the game know my screen resolution?

Factorio runs in the same resolution as your desktop is. Unlike many other games it wasn't optimized for specific resolutions (predefined resolution specific UI, etc). The only reason for Factorio looking worse on your computer than on some Youtube video that I can think of is for game to automatica...

Re: Disabled Gamer

I belive playing in God-mode (Sandbox scenario if I'm not mistaken) would be easy enough becouse in that mode you don't have ingame character which you need to move around using keyboard. But having mouse with aditional buttons would be verry benefitial so that you can map athleast: - E for opening ...

Great progress so far guys. Now I haven't tested the latest version becouse I don't have many friends playing Factorio. And playing Factorio multiplayer over internet just calls for troubles especially since I'm expiriencing some internet connection problems lately. As for automated testings: As a d...

Re: Allow non-owners to play with owner over lan

I don't know how it is in other countries but here ins Slovenia LAN Parties are usually organized in a way that the list of games that will be played on the specific LAN party is anounced before the event even starts. Organizers usuelly don't even connect the LAN party network to the web so you don'...

Re: [0.10.12] Removing rail mod causes crash to desktop

I havent tested this mod out but glancing at its entity and item definitions I suspect thre posible causes for crash: 1. Power rails: When you load a game without the mod active it means that rail sections which were build using powered rails no longer exist. This could result in train pathfinding a...

Re: High speed locomotive stalls with "No path"

I belive this might be caused by pathfinding being to slow. You see trains keep recalculating the path to their destination the whole time they travel. So if your locomotive moves to fast train might simply abandon the current pathfinding atempt and retun as no path has been found instead. It might ...
