Re: soo 0.15.

So I had a look this morning at updates for my game take into mine the game is 64MB in size compressed Size on disk has nothing to do with the performance in-game. I have been removing factorissimo as I believed that was an issue over time Yes, factorissimo doesn't scale well due to having to use L...

Re: soo 0.15.

Yeah modded game should perform as well as vanilla. Mods making the game slow is obviously the game's fault. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lofQKlShPc #Ohwait Love it best use of that car I have ever seen, okay then let me take a different approach to this. So I had a look this morning at updates...

Re: soo 0.15.

Let's try sarcasm: Dear Sparkysam, you've bought that expensive CPU with so many cores and Factorio just won't make use of all the dollars you've paid. What a pity! The devs just ignore your right to performance that comes boxed with this kind of CPUs. You've got my sympathy to the fullest! Actuall...

Re: soo 0.15.

/bashing on Sparkysam, sorry to say that but this post, and others, are plain bullshit. - While Rseding91 has spent most of his time on 0.15 doing (multicore) optimisation, it's pretty cool that other Wube developer is not twiddling their thumbs and actually do interesting things like HD graphics o...

Re: Savegame taking as Excessively long time to load.

I've looked into it but except in these extreme cases, it's plenty fast. The problem is by making a 100x100 pole you've increased the amount of work it has to do by a factor of 123. The largest pole in the base game is 9x9. It's not rare at all every game I play is like this constantly because of a...

Re: Friday Facts #175 - Programmable Speaker

Yes I love the video like sandstorm and it is cool and needs a lot of work but the 99% of the game need better performance not this I'm fairly certain that 99% of people don't ever build bases big enough to slow down their computers. Just 5.8% of people have ever launched a rocket. Am I guessing yo...

Re: Friday Facts #175 - Programmable Speaker

No, concentrate on the performance of the game get good multithreading for mods, robots and belts and better server to client performance and then u can do whatever you want with speakers, animals and even grass for all I care. Saying they should improve multiplayer is a joke right? They had this e...

Re: Thank you (Make the dev-team happy today!)

The thanks you will come at the end, but I have to say something first. I love the game but struggle with its lack of usability due to only 1 core being used, and low FPS because it can't handle more than 10 mods in one game once u get mid game or the fact I have to lower my servers clock speed so e...

soo 0.15.

As soon as I saw multithreading on the news I was soo happy but I have heard nothing about it and it seems the devs and the team are more interested in the graphics so the game can hog more resources it does not have... I am all for nice graphics as long as it does not do a watch_dogs... which the w...

Weekly dose of Factorio news: https://www.factorio.com/blog/post/fff-175 So this is what resources for factorio are going into, like trump building a wall, it is going to stop the good things from coming. Why is this got dedicated time and resources when most people are waiting to see dedicated mul...

Re: X amount to craft

If i want to create that amount, i place a assembler and put lots of iron in it. Just place it in a wild spot and come back when its done. This has so many advantages. But you can run almost the entire factory handcrafting if you want. yes but what i am out in the wild with no power and i need to c...

Re: X amount to craft

It's not often but occasionally I might want to craft something like 275 Iron Gear Wheels. If I've got thousands of Iron in my inventory the fastest way to do that is 55 right clicks (RSI incoming) which are pretty bad. Also if I lose count I'm kinda screwed. exactly my problem, i have a temp solut...

HI I'm Sam, I am 21 (9+10) from the united kingdom and been playing factorio for about 6 months since a friend recommended it to me because of the degree I do; I have clocked over 400 hours since then alone since I have gotten this game on over 4 different servers ( one being vanilla and the rest ar...

X amount to craft

I don't know if this has been suggested yet but adding a feature where you do a certain key bind or binds like e.g shift + right click and a pop up comes up asking you how many you'd like to craft instead of either crafting all or crafting 5. this is a feature I know a lot of people would love to se...

Re: Accumulator priority

1. For long wires - you can put one single accumulator near that power switch, its charge level will soon align with accumulators on the rest of electric network. 2. For constant switching back and forth, I think some kind of combinator setup with memory can be put there so that when steam is power...

Re: Disable Catching up feature

Like I said, Mods don't have any impact on how long it takes to catch up, you can have a game with 1000 mods catch up quicker than a vanilla factory Catching up is your game processing the world faster than the server is so that you can 'catch up' to the current state of the map, it is completely d...

Re: Disable Catching up feature

Catching up feature is great. Previously if you hosted public server and some random person with the bad connection to the server started to join and took forever to download the map, you couldn't do anything about it. But, it still needs some polishing and improvements. Problem is that we always t...
