Re: Friday Facts #219 - Cliffs
As others pointed out, I think I like the idea of ramps more than "blowing up cliffs". We can already build underground belts and pipes to pass the cliffs. I didn't play that far to use a lot of blueprints, so I don't really understand, how big of a challenge that can be. I think there sho...

Re: Who plays with a Steam Controller as well?
I really enjoy Steam Controller. I think it works really well with a lot of games that you would never expect to play via controller (like Crusader Kings 2, Pillars of Eternity, Invisible Inc.). Maybe it's just me, but in case of Factorio, I just can't get over the issue of pointing at aliens to sho...

Re: Friday Facts #214 - Concrete rendering
Your concrete looks like a typical middle-eastern European side walk made of concrete tiles. And yes, you can move faster on such sidewalk than on grass.
Love it.

Re: Friday Facts #212 - The GUI update (Part 1)
Does this mean 1.0 will be delayed? I think it was mentioned somewhere that 0.16 was supposed to be the release candidate, which after debugging would become 1.0. Now we are talking about 0.17...

Re: Factorio Friday Friday Facts #203 - Logistic buffer chest
How does the Active Provider Chest fit into that? Does it also provide items for the Buffer Chests? Also... what will be eventually the point of still having storage chests that can't be done with Buffer Chests? Buffer chest can't provide buffer chest, it would be a loop. So for example. You can ha...

Re: Early-Midgame bottleneck
I respectfully disagree with that. Large plant is so much harder to maintain... What I find is that the research goes so fast - I would recommend to go as small as possible initially. The only thing you want to have expansion space for is your iron, steel and copper smelters, all the rest you can ma...

I'm there too... I launched only one rocket on .14, while started the game probably 6-8 times. My story is: 1. Automate Green and Red - looks good 2. Shiet, this does not work well for the Blue Science, let's redo everything 3. Ok, now Blue and Black are automated. 4. Shiet, this does not work for t...

Congratulations!
I can't come, as it's impossible to buy overseas plane tickets on such short notice in reasonable price. But I think your estimates are very low . I think you will sold this out by tonight.

Turn the wood into chests, so they take less space. Then put those chests into one of the chests. When full, take one chest and put other chests inside. And so on...

Re: Difficulty curve and how to keep players till end game
For me, the difficulty ramps up significantly when I start to make blue science. I find debugging oil challenging, to say the least. The next steep curve is when you start running out of raw materials and try to introduce trains... It's really hard if your base was not designed around that. Rebuildi...

[Twinsen] 0.15.12 Inserter not following enable condition
I connected an inserter to an item counter. - belt is connected to a counter (copper plate pulse) counter counts copper plates. Each plate adds 1 to constant "C" - inserter is connected to a circuit logic => each time inserter picks a plate, it's content is read in a pulse state - then the...

The only thing I found somewhat overpowered with Nuclear Power was the usage of storage tanks for accumulating steam to get around their non-stop production regardless of usage.viveks711 wrote:I think it is the right call though... Nuclear power was otherwise massively overpowered.

Re: 0.15 Oil Rebalancing - Too Far?
I'm by far not an experienced player, and so far in my latest 0.15 game I can't complaint either way about Oil. My first patch had 5 spots and by the time I started automating purple science, it's almost entirely gone and I have to look for more. Maybe for veterans it's way too easy, but for an aver...
