Angel,
The uranium power mod will be using petroleum gas for its recipes. Since petroleum isn't available in petrochem, synthesis gas would be the closest equivalent.
So adding Synthesis Gas -> Petroleum Gas to the converter valve will be required to utilize his mod properly.

Re: Uranium Power
Forgot to mention (because I forgot myself), there is a converter valve in petrochem that converts vanilla to angel and vice versa. (Such as heavy oil to naphtha) However, petroleum doesn't convert to anything, and my tanks of almost every angel gas doesn't convert to petro either. Angel could add s...

Re: Uranium Power
I wouldn't know what relates to it as closely as you would, which is why I linked the graph. https://forums.factorio.com/download/file.php?id=18366 The oil and gas wells are on the left side, including what they all break down or synthesize into. If there's multiple gasses that most closely relate ...

Re: Uranium Power
What I mean is that crude oil becomes naphtha, mineral oil, or fuel oils. There is no petroleum cracking or petroleum in general, so another oil for Angel would be required for that mod specifically, otherwise the process won't function. That is an issue then as I designed it using only the base ga...

Re: Uranium Power
As I play with Angel's Petrochem, this process will be quite different as there's no petroleum within it. However, since the number of gasses and liquids is vastly expanded, there's sure to be the exact ingredient required. (Nitric acid, isn't it?) In case you need it, user j02k recently made a pet...

Re: Uranium Power
and the devs are getting an ear-full from those who know better as well. Misinformation about reactors is why paranoia continues to exist in the real world. After the Fukushima reactor suffered major damage from the tsunami, the reaction of the people was that all nuclear reactors would explode at ...

Re: Development and Discussion
Am I missing something, or is Lubricant extremely difficult to produce in Angel's Petrochem? I needed to set up an entire natural gas processing pipeline to get Residual Gas, and now I'm venting a bunch of other chemicals because I need way more Residual Gas for lubricant than anything else. Using ...

Re: Uranium Power
Well. Tschenobyl did go 'boom' without any hollywood script involved ;) The boom you are referring to is a steam explosion, not the mushroom clouds that everyone is talking about when they say "boom." That reactor is also a badly designed one. You want a badly designed reactor? ;) A well ...

Re: Development and Discussion
Angel, have you given much thought on how you're going to develop the bio-processing mod? Not that I want to sound ungrateful, but it would be really nice to see that mod get some attention since it has a lot of possibilities but was thrown on the burner for quite some time. One reason why I bring ...

Re: Swimming in Quartz
Quartz is plentiful in the early game, but this will start to even out when you start making more Transistors, CPUs, and Silicon Nitrite. Silicon will be burned rather quickly for Science Pack 4, Tier 6+ modules and Mk4 robots. Which depending on the size of your factory, may further incentivize you...

Re: Uranium Power
Might get my nuclear engineering degree after reading your posts. They're quite detailed. The charts are a nice touch since I'm a visuals kind of guy, I can visually understand what's going on and it continues to excite me. There will be a lot of trial and error to fully grasp the detail, but it sho...

Re: Bugs & FAQ
Question: Why can't I put productivity modules into any angels mods machine apparently? I meant the petrochem mostly, they are huge machines, pretty slow and you need A LOT of them to make plastic in big amounts, a few productivity upgrades would not do much there. You can add productivity upgrades...

Re: Uranium Power
To clarify, my thought was that when the building is operating within safety limits, it did not suffer damage. Only when temperatures were getting higher did it actually self damage. As a way to further incentivize making a good safe design and keeping it within that safe limit so the building stay...

Found it under basic chemistry, but needed to reset the research to obtain it.
Another recipe for the migration file.
It's nice to see another alternative to getting precious slag.

Re: Development and Discussion
Looking at the graph reminds me of the joyful complexity that mods bring.
Although, 'Dirt Water Electrolysis' is new to me. I even tried to find it since skipping purified water for simple water with slag byproduct would be useful, but couldn't find it.
Is this correct?

Re: Angels Smelting Ratios and builds
It would be nice to see some ratios including the use of speed modules to get an idea of how compressed this can be. For a nice while I've spent many hours creating a design that looks surprisingly like steinio's, but lacking in such a massive scale, perfect calculations and finesse. http://puu.sh/s...

Re: Bugs & FAQ
Angel, I'm pretty sure that Advanced Metallurgy 4 and Ore Processing 3 are supposed to be swapped in the tech tree. As I begin making my titanium smelting line, I have all the titanium smelting tech finished before I can even process the ore. Plus unlocking the Mk4 ore processing machine before the ...

Re: Friday Facts #162 - Theme Art Again
Mixed thoughts on this. When I first played the game, I thought there were going to be a lot of neat things involving biters and artifacts. However, it later became clear that the biters seemed more like an afterthought as there's nothing really interesting about them or the mechanics surrounding th...

Re: Uranium Power
Honestly, I thought the idea was a bit iffy myself. I'm no expert when it comes to this, but I figured that reactors only suffered damage when there was insufficient cooling. (This is the case in the nuclear reactor simulator) While standard maintenance is required for almost anything in life, oper...
