Re: Summary field can get way too long

Ah, I see what you mean now.

I wasn't aware that it also stretched the main page of mod portal itself. I saw it as only stretching when you opened it or looked for the author. Fortunately this is a rarity that hasn't been abused unnecessarily.

Re: Summary field can get way too long

Or they could write a succinct summary and not a novel to explain their mod like any civilized person. It certainly hasn't been an issue before and likely won't be.

Re: Bugs & FAQ

I seem to be having the Rubyte only spawning around Coal issue as well, I thought maybe it was just a new way for it to spawn at first but now I'm in need of more lead to continue to basic circuit boards but there doesn't seem to be any Rubyte in the area. The current solution is to enable this set...

I know what problem you're referring to, so here's the current solution:

Enable it and you'll have the problem disappear.

Re: Development and Discussion

Unless maybe if you run out of coal and don't have oil/gas yet ? Not sure about the amounts involved... It takes two coal to create a single sulfur. You'll be using a couple thousand coal for starting fuel and will be shifting to cleaning coke as soon as possible. This should result in 200,000 - 40...

Re: Tailings ponds can overflow?

Overflowing tailing ponds is probably the feature I liked most. Keep them managed and you won't heavily pollute the land, just like the real deal.

Land reclamation and decontamination is an involved process though. It would be neat to see that restoration added to the mod someday.

Re: Development and Discussion

The point of making a new repository would just be to get things moving, not to claim that I'm the best balancer out there. I don't have the experience in play to claim that I'm anything close to the best balancer out there. Your insulting condescension is unwarranted and unappreciated, given that ...

Re: Change in chemical science pack in 17.60

In this version the science pack recipe is changed to sulfur instead of the solid fuel it was before. In bobs/angels it is kinda a pain in the ass to make sulfur, because it is often made in a loop where its recycled. So is it maybe possible to change the recipe back to use solid fuel? That is inco...

Re: Development and Discussion

The sulfur change really means that development needs to resume somehow, since it really upsets the current balance. I'd be tempted to set up a repo and start development in advance of receiving Angel's blessing, so that the community could start contributing bugfixes and possible solutions to the ...

Re: Change in chemical science pack in 17.60

I'll post my reply from that thread here as well: Sulfur is the easiest thing in Angel's to overproduce than any other item in the game. What you're doing wrong is that you're not washing your coal into coke to produce sulfuric waste water. Doing this early on will produce tens of thousands of sulfu...

Re: Version 0.17.60

I had a strong feeling it was going to be done because the devs were dead set on the fact it had to be changed regardless of any logical reasoning to counter it. A change for the sake of change. I'm also not surprised that feedback was dismissed either, given that V seemed to be the only one who act...

Re: I've never played multiplayer. I have some basic questions...

Are there any other Generation X players out there who have tried playing multiplayer with their Generation Z sons/daughters/nieces/nephews? How did it go? Does the younger generation have the attention span required to stick through an entire game? Depends on their maturity and overall interest in...

Re: Friday Facts #305 - The Oil Changes

“Add a tutorial.” This is always an option and certainly vastly superior to having the player go to wiki/youtube/... for help, but if it can be solved in the game then I’d say it’s much better. I have to ask how solving the puzzles for us in a logistical problem solving game is "much better&qu...

Re: Development and Discussion

I'm content with any solution that keeps Angel's development on track at a quicker pace. Bio industries has been neglected so long and it's one of my favourite concepts by using nature to solve problems using cleaner and renewable resources instead. Allowing the community to provide some development...

Re: Version 0.17.59

So, before I allow Steam to update I would like to have this clear. The oil change is NOT in this version, right? I'm hoping it was just a thought experiment to see how players reacted and nothing that was ever seriously being considered. That didn't stop them before, nor is it the proper way to ga...

Re: Friday Facts #304 - Small bugs; Big changes

This thread sure has grown a lot in a day. I would propose to separate these two by both simplifying blue science - I had to stop reading there. Science is the main means of progression and undermining that aspect only makes everything else easier as a result. Part of the appeal for blue science bei...

Re: Development and Discussion

I got the joke mrvn.

It's also something the AVGN also has to contend with during his game recordings which is why there can be an awkward cut during some videos of his where he has to stop gaming to check on the little ones. It's likely why he records things at a friends house whenever possible.

Re: Friday Facts #304 - Small bugs; Big changes

At this point I'm glad the modding community provides content that gives this game some depth, since vanilla keeps losing what initially brought me to it in the first place. I'm trying to recall when the last time something meaningful was added and not removed since it certainly feels like it was a...
