Re: Idea: combined red-blue-print
Perhaps it should be coloured purple instead of green? Klonan's Upgrade Builder and Planner uses green for its icon, so anyone who's already used it will associate green with upgrades. Purple would fit with the combination build/remove operation. I do like the idea, though. You'd only need the one M...

Re: Suggestion: Avoiding Logistic Fights
Really, the logistic request and trash functions should just be two parts of the same filter. For each thing, set a minimum and maximum. If you have less than the minimum, the difference is requested from the logistics network. If you have more than the maximum, it's dumped into the trash slots. Th...

Re: Import/Export blueprints as PNG images
When you started covering this, I thought "That sounds just like Spore", and sure enough, you go on to mention just that. Yes, aggressive block-stripping to save space is the curse of any program which uses custom PNG blocks. On the other hand, if they're used poorly they can result in rat...

Re: More-Programmable Speaker
That's exactly what I'm asking for. Being able to control the speaker by up to three signals, depending on what you want under software control. To make it 100% clear: We meant, that there is a standardized new signal type, that is interpreted by the speaker as "velocity" signal (which is...

Re: Combat automation (ultra lazy bastard)
Maybe just reusable versions of the existing combat robot capsules, or a structure that can be loaded up with the existing capsules and automatically tosses them at the enemies when they get into range? I dunno. It's not a topic I think much about, given I usually just run back and forth with the fl...

Re: More-Programmable Speaker
Someone who knows midi, would think that the volume information is part of the notes and not somthing which is sent over a different channel. Locking the volume to the note? That's kind of already the case if you use the "mass of speakers and combinators" approach to selectable volume. I'...

Re: Add "looking at the map" player animation.
Do you mean: It should be visible on (mini)map, which players are sitting in which vehicle? I think they mean "When you walk past another player who's looking at the map, you should be able to tell from their sprite that they're standing around because they're looking at the map." I would...

Re: Late game solar: solar thermal plants and mirrors
Rather than a late-game solution, perhaps solar-thermal should be an earlier option for solar and the photovoltaic panels should be moved up the tech tree? After all, it's a lot easier to build mirrors than it is to make semiconductors (of which photovoltaic cells are one example).

Re: Placing container on item moves item to inventory
This does seem to be a spot of inconsistency. If you place a chest on top of an item on the ground manually, you get the item in your inventory. If you order bots to place a chest on top of an item on the ground, you get the item put into the chest. To make things consistent with the first, a bot sh...

Re: add a random / unique number combinator
You could make your own pseudo-random number generator out of the existing combinators. There's enough operations to implement a few algorithms already. Hell, I've used a rather hacky approach of a few iterations of x = x*x % c as a way to make some pseudo-random numbers in a shader in the past. The...

I'm now having the mental image of a burner inserter running normal, fast, really fast, then a small explosion and the arm going flying across the landscape after putting in rocket fuel.

Re: Ammunition Rebalancing
I could argue that the "advanced upgrade material" would be nitrogen which could only be obtained by being extracted from the air in a chemical plant. However, that doesn't create any logistic puzzles to solve. Maybe solid fuel would have a place in the advanced recipe as well? Straight-u...

Re: assembler barrel intake
You could make a mod for this fairly easily. Just a modified recipe that takes a barrel of the relevant fluid type instead of the fluid and produces an empty barrel as an additional output. You would have to alter the number of inputs and outputs, given most recipes don't use 250L of any fluid. For ...

Re: keep certain inventory items from being used as ingredient
How about being able to set a filter on a particular inventory slot so that the item count in that slot can only change via manual intervention.
Nothing goes in or out of that slot without you specifically doing inventory management on it.

Re: Change 'ground' fluid tanks to 2x2 to match fluid wagons
Or we could have a 2*2 tank that holds 25000L and a 3*3 tank that holds 56250L. Same density of fluid storage as the fluid wagon, more options for construction.

Yes, that would be nice to have. Right now, I use a workaround of including a 5-second wait to ensure it gets at least some fuel.Ranakastrasz wrote:Also let us make station schedules that require at least xcoalfuel before they are willing to continue.

Re: round up fluids reading train inventory
Seems to me the real solution to the problem should be "Use integers instead of floats for fluid values". Though that would probably be a headache to change. Yes I thought the same a while ago. Maybe the developers can provide some insights why they decided for floats. As a programmer, I ...

Re: Ability to load soundfont(.sf2) into speakers
Now this would go well with being able to set the instrument via circuit network signals. Just use "chosen instrument signal = General MIDI instrument number" to select instruments.
