Re: Friday Facts #142 - Playtesting

Nice to hear about the changes! Sometimes it's the little things that make me super happy like more inventory space with armor, and more detailed info about evo factor. :D

I will keep my fingers crossed for a release hopefully next week! Good luck with any other bugs/fixes until then.

Wow that looks cool and weird at the same time. Crazy to think those are numbers making up that pattern. :O

Re: 4 Science pack lab factory

Interesting setups. I like the compact it all is! Personally I would maybe double the size of the whole thing just for quicker research but I'm pretty impatient so it isn't that big of a deal. :P I'm actually pretty curious about what's going on with those copper Belts near the top right that seem t...

Re: Friday Facts #141 - Mod Portal

Oh man! I had to do a double take when I saw that Locomotive picture and GIF. :o Looks so much better and more Factorio-ish than the current one. I am super excited just for that, not to mention all the other awesome stuff. Also the mod portal, especially the in game integration is going to be great...

Re: plastics help

My guess would be that you just aren't producing enough petroleum gas to supply that many chemical plants all working at once. Liquids are a bit weird n the fact that it won't spread them out evenly. So if you aren't producing enough petroleum then only the first couple plants will get fed since it ...

Re: Multi Screen - Map on one side, player on the other

Unfortunately I don't think that is currently possible. Would be awesome though!
Closest thing I can think of is to open map, take a screenshot and then have the screen shot open on your other screen. Obviously it wouldn't be live but depending what you need it for it could still work I'd imagine. :)

Re: Help with modules for 10 Beacons per 1 Furnace

I would say putting Productivity in the furnaces and all Speed in the beacon's is fine, especially if you are on solar power. Since the energy from solar is essentially free (aside from the cost of making them obviously), then I would say don't worry about the extra power consumption and just build ...

Yeah you can definitely play that way and probably reach the end goal of launching the rocket, it will just take much longer. But hey, if your enjoying yourself in the process then that's totally fine. :D

Re: Offsite Resource Collection

Yup I think most people eventually end up doing this. As for shipping it back as plates, ore or even actual finished products, I think that's personal preference. For me, I prefer just sending the ore back even though it's less space efficient than sending plates. Mostly I prefer this method because...

Re: The ultimate challenge island

This is actually a really neat world. Could be quite fun using the landfill mod to start out on the island and then expand out to the main land as you need it. Would be super cool to have like all your main manufacturing stuff on the island and then just having trains going back and forth from the m...

Re: Logistics Filter

Here is the rule of thumb I usually go by when using chests. Passive Providers on all machine outputs that you want put into the Loginetwork. This way t keeps them organized and won't let other random items clog up the output chest. Active providers or a situational thing. Sometimes I use them on tr...

Re: So I was about to give up on my first factory

Good post! This is definitely a good strategy and aspect of the game to learn. By clearing out bases in your pollution range you can pretty much turn off attacks completely. Of course sometimes they will build new bases in your pollution and you will get some attacks from that if you don't find them...

Re: Logistic Bots Not Moving

Yeah it looks like they are all waiting to charge. Only 4 can charge at a roboport at once so when you get a large number of bots you need a lot more roboports. The other possibility is that the roboports are full of bots so the ones outside can't fit in. This seems less likely though especially bec...

Re: Game FPS at End game

You can replace belts by underground belts of the same type. It helps. Thanks! So belts in numbers cause major performance drops? Would logistics robots do a better job performance than using a bus design? Yup, robots will help your performance compared to Belts. Belts cause quite a bit of performa...

Well I have played around with a ton of mods, Bob's, Dytech, and many more add-on type mods as well. ^ This. If your ever unsure about what building something is made in just hover over the item in your crafting menu and it should show you. For steel you need to smelt the Iron Plate to get it. It takes 5 Iron Plate to make one Steel, which you can also see by hovering over the Steel recipe in your ...

Re: Quick-setup resizable mining outpost

Nice designs! It certainly makes it easier to have blueprints and premade designs for outposts. Personally I would put the miners much closer together but that's just me. I can see the benefit of spreading them out since it means you won't mind the outpost of resources as quickly. Guess it really co...
