Re: Infinite Mining (question)
About the acid requirement, exactly how much acid is required? The tooltip says 10 acid per 10 ore, but that does not seem to be the case. I made a test and I was able to mine about 330 ore with as much as 1.5k acid! There's two things that might be happening here. One, it might be a bug, caused ei...

Re: Development and Discussion
How do they do that? Is it a recipe in an assembler like building where you pick the recipe or a boiler thing where diesel goes into the fuel slot? There's a new diesel generator machine which you pipe the diesel into (the diesel itself is made in a chemical reactor with light fuel and methane, if ...

Re: Development and Discussion
It's true that liquids and gases are not usable fuels in the base game. I know this isn't quite on-topic with the discussion about producing power from hydrogen and oxygen, but it is relevant to using liquid fuels. I like to use the mod KS Power with Angel's mods, because it integrates very well to...

Re: Mid Game Play
I'm not sure I'd agree with splitting up tiers of electronics, there are a lot of parts in common between the boards, such as the "Transistors" being used on everything from T2 up. if you spread it out, it means you either have to produce transistors at each base, or produce the raw compo...

Re: Mid Game Play
I seldom store resources for any build. Especially with mods. If you're producing enough resources that a large buffer is needed to store them, either you've overbuilt your production or you need to start consuming resources faster; similarly if you're consuming resources too fast you need to increa...

Re: Infinite Mining (question)
I hit a Jivolite deposit rather next to the starting zone, already 1 mio in quantitiy, so there's plenty to tap from in early game. I was just a bit worried, because i red "hydrofluoric acid" which is, let's say, a bit picky to get. Jivolite is the only one with an acid that's particularl...

Re: How to get Used Cooling ? Plastic on 0.15v
Angel adds an electric steam boiler for this kind of thing. It produces steam for cracking processes without the need to bring a fuel line through your petrochemical plants. The steam obtained by cooling down coolant is a byproduct. It is not a practical method of obtaining steam for cracking proces...

Re: HF, Jivolite mining
There are two ways to produce hydrofluoric acid. All of the information here assumes you're using the latest versions of Angel's mods (older versions may not include all of these processes). The first method uses fluorite ore. Fluorite ore is obtained from fluoric waste water, which is a byproduct o...

Re: Boilers and Steam Engines
The advanced boilers and steam engines are from Bob's mods, not Angel's mods. So this isn't the right subforum. Regardless, the equation for figuring out the correct ratio should be: (B*e)/P = N, where "B" is the boiler's power consumption (essentially the rate at which it receives energy ...

Re: A couple thoughts on angels smelting
The idea with using several types of ingots to produce a single type of plate is for times when your factory may be overproducing certain metals and underproducing others. Suppose you have far more manganese than you really need, but not enough iron ore; in that case you can combine the two to make ...

Re: Quick Steel question
You can smelt iron ingots into steel ingots in another blast furnace (unless that''s changed). And it is more efficient than the default of 5 iron plates to 1 steel plate, though I'm not sure if it's more efficient than the 2 iron to 1 steel recipe when Bob's mods are installed (and the relevant con...

This is my first time using either mod so I'm still learning what does what. Sorry to waste your time! I highly recommend installing the mod Factorio NEI. Re: what the purpose thermal water ?
The main purpose of thermal water is obtaining lithium, which can otherwise only be obtained using Angel's Bio Processing (if I recall correctly). Lithium is important for a lot of advanced components, like lithium-ion batteries.

Hello eloquentJane, I'm following your guides for a while and I honor your work. What I would like to see are some numbers of the ratios between furnaces and casting machines. Greetings, steinio. That is jivolite ore. You should be able to mine it directly from the ground, but from what you've already posted in various threads I get the feeling your set of mods is so full of bugs that I can't be sure where you'd obtain jivolite ore, or why it's listed as an unknown.

Re: Guide: Petrochemical Refining
Coal, Oil, & Natural Gas Petrochem allows you to obtain petrochemicals from any hydrocarbon source. This means that, rather than just oil, you can use coal or natural gas as well (or as alternatives) to produce many of the same petrochemical products. Multi-Phase Oil is obtained by putting a Pu...
