Re: [MOD 0.12.x] Ore Expansion

Getting the following error when starting a new game with the mod turned on; "_ _Ore Expansion_ _/control.lua:3: attempt to index global 'game' (a nil value)" hope someone can help. You downloaded the wrong version. You want the one for 0.12 and higher. Edit: I removed the old version dow...

Enabling and disabling the option fixet it, but i'm pretty sure that items inside of a chemical plant ain't supposed to be able to be stacked 8 higher then the normal stack size xD http://prntscr.com/af6462 Items in assembling machines (and variants of assembling machines - the refinery) can stack ...

Re: Computer crashes on startup

Could you please upload the log file (factorio-current.log) and post your system specs?

A total computer freeze sounds a lot like the issues I've experienced when trying to run Factorio on a system that wasn't powerful enough. But, I won't know that until you can provide the above information.

The Explosion sound of the bomb is way to loud if i compare it to a nade . i was so scared by testing this near that i got a heartattack. ( i saw someone other mentioned that already it has nothing to do with the volume the sound is just to loud ) The volume is the same as the base-game grenade sou...

Re: [MOD 0.12.x] Force Fields - energy powered walls

I'm getting an error in control.lua on line 788, attempting to index a nil value. I'm not entirely sure what's causing this to trigger in-game, as sometimes it'll happen as soon as I put down an emitter, sometime it won't happen for a few minutes afterwards. Same, I'm also noticing that the origina...

Re: 2 Questions about code

player.print() outputs to the in-game console. log() outputs to the factorio-current.log file

As for the steam engine: it will use any fluid you put in it. It's currently not possible to restrict the type of fluid it will use.

Can you please update to the latest version (0.12.26) and see if you can reproduce the issue? There's a good chance this has already been resolved.

Re: Service pack 1 required?

You can play the game with "Windows Vista (Service Pack 2)" compatibility mode to bypass the "service pack 1" required message. That sort of proves that it is just a check instead of a requirement. If anything, it should just pop open a message box requesting you to update to SP...

Re: Game crashes while playing

The crash log is indicating that it's running out of RAM and or VRAM (most likely VRAM).

Can you run the dxdiag program from your start menu and upload the results it provides?

Re: Factorio requires windows 7 service pack 1?

Factorio requires SP1 on Windows 7 because it doesn't work correctly without it (as you've seen).

I also suspect that it won't work at all on your laptop as the log file is saying you have an integrated Intel HD graphics card which almost certainly doesn't meet the system requirements for Factorio.

Re: Crash: possibly due to low memory

As for the actual crash: that looks a lot like the crash related to the New Hope level 2 issue from 0.12.25 which is fixed in 0.12.26 but requires you re-start the level from the menu.

Re: [MOD 0.12.x] Landfill (2.1.7)

Being any number of tiles away was kinda the point. You always are limited by creating a landtype that is somewhat nearby, but you get your choice of whichever one you want. Whatever you are standing on is your choice. As for the player placed things (stone/concrete floors?) arent those not real ti...

Re: Game crashes every now and then.

It looks almost exactly like what an out-of-memory error looks like indicating you've gone beyond what your computer can handle. That combined with your computer being 32 bit leads me to believe you've simply gone far enough with your map that you'd need to upgrade to a 64 bit operating system so th...

Re: [12.24]Smoke rendering but invisible

Do you have a copy of the map in that state? I'd like to profile it and see why it might take up that much tick time. Smoke (as you can see in the screenshot) doesn't tick like normal entities do so it shouldn't have any noticeable impact on performance.

Re: [0.12.26] Logistic drones + Limited chest = works wrong

Right. The order is intended. The inserter grabbing stuff from the restricted slots is not. Actually, it is. The restriction is restriction of input, not of output, for the exact reason described in this topic. I see how it is :) It's intended to work the way that sounds best at the time. (in the p...
