Re: Few personal feelings, and thoughts about new features
Bobs mods + Angels mods + Ion cannon is what I'm currently playing. While the graphics of Bobs mods are not great. The complexity of the electronics construction is a nice logistical challenge. Last electronics needs 6 different components. Which you could produce on site or bring in on a main bus. ...

Re: [Windows] The death of Win32 and 32-bit itself.
I personally would've liked the 32-bit binary to remain available. ARM devices are still 32-bit and the efficient x86 emulators for ARM support only 32-bit. ARM processors have moved to 64 bit already. At great cost of power per watt, for the processors that support it. And new processors are made ...

Re: To easy
Bobs mods with Angels mods. I doubt you'll ever finish a game. Just launched my 2nd ion cannon. I recommend the ion cannon mod to get a better end game in bobs+angles, as you need to produce a whole lot of odd things for the ion cannon that you do not need for a sat launch. But I think the biggest ...

Re: What do you do with your wood?
I just keep using the small electric poles, as with the over-supply of wood, they are essentially free, unlike the medium ones that cost 2 steel. And the medium poles don't really help in coverage in most my building situations. (But now I'm playing with bobs mods, and my robots are clearing whole f...

Re: Empty (black) surface, but with minimap?
You're most likely trying to set the tiles before the chunk is actually generated. You can look at the code of my space platform mod: https://mods.factorio.com/mods/daid/space-platform This generates an unlimited sized surface, and modifies the chunks when they are generated. You'll have to attach t...

Updates Per Second.
Unlike most common games, Factorio is much more limited by CPU speed then graphics processing power. And it runs in a fixed update cycle. Unlike other games that become less "accurate" if they your computer is too slow.

Re: Need an account to download mods?
Oh yes ! I was wondering why my WaterWell mod that was downloaded more than 30.000 times from the old 0.12 factorio site was now only downloaded less than 2000 times on 0.13. The solution is right here : 94% of factorio players are not legit. ;) Hope this will encourage them to buy this nice game, ...

Re: 32 Bit Linux Demo?
Note, I have a 32bit linux install on my server machine. And I could run the Linux version of the headless server on this after only installing a 64bit kernel.
I do not know if this works for the graphical version of well.

Re: City Blocks instead of Main Bus
But I'd love to here your opinion to this. Maybe you were talking about something else ;-) I never put gears on the bus. As you have iron on the bus it is easy to make gears/pipes and a lot of other small intermediate products from that. For me, a bot factory takes the fun away. I like the logistic...

Many early boiler setups use a mechanism of taking coal off a belt, placing it in the boiler, and then on the other side have another inserter removing the coal and placing it in a parallel boiler - a-la: [Ximg]http://i.imgur.com/rsP3wA5.jpg[/img] (Picture from: https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopi...

Re: Can I run this game?
You can buy it on steam and refund it within 2 hours of playing time if it doesn't work. I've done this with a few games already. Intel graphics 3000 card here, which is a bit of a hit&mis with various games. Not for vram problems, but other issues. So I am quite happy with steams policy on this...

I personally think less items should be hand craftable. The fact that the engine is not pushes you a whole lot more to automated production.

Re: My guide to "There is no spoon"
I did mine in 7:30, with just the tip "very big starting area, so the natives never notice your pollution." Worked fine, but I did end up building a car and a tank to seek&destroy some natives. Didn't do solar power, nor modules (they are quite a resource sink), and best thing I did wa...

Use the same rail sprites. Remove ballast sprites. Replace ties sprites with slabs sprites (optionally with hazard markings). Add slab endidng sprites for smooth transition between the slabs and the ties, make the priority in a such way that they are rendered above the ties. ... PROFIT! While easy ...

Re: Construction bots in 0.15 science
Well, one of the recent FFFs suggested that you should have access to personal construction bots earlier in the game. The mod just focuses on the science part, as that part was quite detailed. The rest was pretty much one-liners.

0.14 experimental will most likely become the new stable any day now. For me, it has been rock solid. And I mostly do singleplayer. Fixes for singleplayer are not that many, but some mods are only updating in the experimentals.
