I'm trying again ^_^, but this time here is the proper coffeine molecule that i hereby grant anyone to use for whatever they want to use :ugeek: http://i.imgur.com/jYTfUBc.png Notice the extra bound between two carbon atoms. Remember a carbon atom needs 4 bounds(1 line) Whilst one of those blue ato...

The weakest point at this kind of layout are the outpost. Especialy the close ones. For example i lost 20 repairbots in a single attack wave. Atm i dont know a mechanism to autorefill the repairbots. 2. Problem Biters like to eat my large electric pole between my outpost. https://forums.factorio.co...

Re: Spockfactory v2.0
Yes the rail loops are not good. how do u fix it? I do favor the circles since they are simple, expandable and easily repeatable (circles can have 4 chain signals at cardinal points around the circle with normal signals at each entrance/exit). But, the argument against the circle right after your i...

Re: Spockfactory v2.0
OK, you asked for improvements so I'll mention the (overly nitpicky) ones I see: - Science - purple science really only needs 1 assembler for every 10 blue science assemblers and red science could match production with one less assembler (5 total) - recommend productivity modules on purple assembler...

Re: Trainnetwork; Left Handed Driving Or Right Handed Driving.
Not sure how you guys do it in the old world, but here in the States we drive with both hands (unless with need to visually communicate with a driver who just cut us off)
Left side or right side, I think the rule is to just be consistent.

What, no Hershey chocolate bar? As for quantity, our Holloween tradition is (was) to fill a pillow case or two full of candy.

Re: Friday Facts #101 - The players are real people
Over here in the States, we have a whole political system in place that encourages this type of deflection. Instead of recognizing the failure of their elected officials and doing something about it, they are directed to those evil "other people" and told that all of their problems are due...

Chapter 7 – Time to Wait Zoe had an insatiable appetite for the great outdoors and adventures. These desires led her to a degree in astrogeology which further led her to numerous uncharted planets and a lonely life. At the moment her loneliness was unimportant. Her current employer, New World Terra...

Re: Friday Facts #102 - Getting close
Don't worry about reaching the "finish line" we have many more ideas that will need to be implemented for Factorio 2. We'll figure out ideas for 3 later. Well done on the switch. It looks good! As a side note, switches for high voltage lines require significant force/mechanical advantage t...

Re: Improving replayability
I think different terrains could add some considerable variety to replay. Each terrain would have unique items that would lead to conquering other terrains. Also, each terrain would have unique problems to overcome. The trick would be developing a web of ways those problems can be overcome with diff...

Re: The bentham/arumba train unloader
Just for comparisons, this is what the receiving train station for all of the Bobs ores can look like - Why such long lead areas for each platform? For future expansion for longer trains? I limit the number of trains for each ore/station to the number of parking spots. This will prevent jamming. Th...

Re: The bentham/arumba train unloader
Just for comparisons, this is what the receiving train station for all of the Bobs ores can look like - RAILROAD%20SHIPPING.jpg I think the sorter is a more elegant solution. Of course the most efficient design uses bots (especially level 3 bots) to sort the receiving ores. https://forums.factorio.c...

Re: The bentham/arumba train unloader
This is more of a sorter and not so much of a train unloader First, I like the counter at the bottom. How does it work? I'd like the designer to consider a few things: - What control measures are in place (or can be placed) to prevent a material from overloading the temporary storage and then the fe...

Re: Friday Facts #101 - The players are real people
Or maybe you actually landed in a world of bureaucrats and tax collectors and are now like “Nope!” and trying to get to some other planet – one without oversalivating bureaucrats or tax collectors with overbite. So what's the difference between bureaucrats and worms? One is a nasty, life sucking, a...

Re: [0.11.22/0.12.x][v0.12.2] Bob's Power mod
The current small/normal/large model is based on the number of tiles the panel occupies, so small is 2^2(or 2x2) or 4 tiles, medium is 3^2 or 9 tiles, large is 4^2 or 16 tiles, so the costs are based on 4, 9 or 16, not 1, 2 and 3 as you sugest it should be(if you did want to get rid of the square, ...

I would like to suggest the following balance changes for the solar panels and accumulators: Change 1 - solar panel "Economy of Scale" - Reduce the small panel production by 10% (24 kW for small panel 1) and increase the large panel production by 10% (120 kW for Large panel 1) - Increase c...
