Considering all of the materials for an assembling machine are the same as for inserters (by type at least) I'd think that it's made up of functionally small inserters. Wouldn't make sense to make it require one of the large inserters if you're making small ones.

Let me clarify here, what I'm saying is the CLIENT doesnt need to know whats happening 5 chunks away, just the server. I'm not saying the server shouldnt process the whole world. What I am suggesting is the server be a bit more selective in what it pushes to the client each update. As DaveMcW says,...

Was looking for the same thing. Thought the new graphics were well done, but didn't fit the sci-fi look that I fell in love with originally.

Well, I'm not sure if I do things differently, but I find myself switching over to laser turrets waaaay before I get far enough in that the logistics or circuit network comes into play. (Largely due to not needing to restock ammo)

Map Display/warning for out of ammo

So, had a pretty quick suggestion for: Turrets without ammo should have a map icon showing that they're out of ammo, ideally along with a warning marker similar to the other turret warnings that they've run dry. It would be immensely useful in keeping track of what's happening.
