Re: The thing that bothers me since game start

I remember when the change was made that the first item no longer fell from the end of a belt, some people suggested to add a stopper grid graphic there to make it more plausible that item's get stopped. So you're not the only one. I assume it was never a huge concern though. I don't mind watching t...

Re: your thoughts on menu simulation

They are playfull and fun to watch, so I love it. Would have expected longer background scenes of just watching machines endlessly produce stuff. But the current approach is much more interesting and whenever I want to do something else on the menu, I just ignore the background. Don't know whether t...

Hello i have a problem. i can't find the save files. where should they be stored?
This depends on your system and how you've installed it. Probably in %appdata%/Factorio/saves
The wiki lists all possible places here: https://wiki.factorio.com/Application_d ... #Locations

Re: Friday Facts #361 - Train stop limit, Tips and tricks

Great to see some new FFF! I was initially worried the new Tips & Tricks screen might overwhelm new players, making them decide they don't really want to read this intimidating "homework" before playing, rendering the long list much less effective. Good call to keep them as simple as n...

Re: Resetting mini-tutorial popups?

I found it on a second device, where the tutorial progress had not yet been synchronised.
And also, as Zavian mentioned, the zip download from the website should contain all default values. So that's an option to look them up too. :)

Re: Resetting mini-tutorial popups?

For those using Steam on Windows, the player-data.json file exists twice. In case someone finds this useful (for this, or unlocking all tutoral levels etc.): It works for me by setting the relevant values in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[user number]\427520\remote\player-data.json Such as &...

Re: Friday Facts #360 - 1.0 is here!

Crazy to imagine how long this has been part of my life; for over 6 years I read the Friday Facts almost always the same day it was published. So often they were great and insightful reads or gave something new to learn about game design and software development, etc. Thank you for the journey! Reme...

Re: Friday Facts #352 - New website

Do you consider updating the Early Access info box on Steam? While it won't be there for long anymore, it could say the set release date there. Also it still mentions plans for a long-form campaign in 1.0. Looking forward. I always loved the dark background texture on your website, that one will be ...

region-specific prices x 1000 How well does this work though? Steam hasn't been supporting gifts across regions with a significant price difference for years now. Sale events are a "legitimate" method to get cheap games. "Legitimate", as in selling steam gifts is a violation of ...

effectively performing economic price discrimination . So what? That's a perfectly fine and reasonable thing to do. Students get discounts left and right where I come from. That is even listed in the article you linked. I hope I don't sound too agressive, but what IS the problem with that? Obviousl...

Re: Friday Facts #303 - Under 100 bugs (but still not stable)

But the FFF and the linked article tell us ! According to G2A : potentially 0.02% of the keys they sell are illegitimate. According to Wube : A whopping 10% of chargebacks. (That would be ~3k website purchases out of ~600k Steam purchases in 2016 then?) Whether this number is accurate is yet anothe...

@Sander_Bouwhuis They are not the first result, they are an ad. That was the whole point of the screenshot. They pay Google money to show up before any ordinary search results for specific search terms. You can tell from it saying "Ad" below the link. This is common practise from sites lik...

What's everyone's problem? A (rudimentary google) translation has been added, which gives everyone an idea of the content -> conforms to rules Off-Topic is for anything that's not Factorio. The posting is neutral There was a thread on the US election, in which a mod AND a dev took part. Of course yo...

Re: When we will get steam trading card ?

Even though it'd be Steam exclusive, I doubt many non-Steam players would mind. You only get some artwork which exists outside of Steam too. Many Steam users don't seem to care either anyway. However, the badges and bonuses have to be prepared and the Art department is already working hard on stuff ...

As always, let us know know you think on our forums. Indeed, I am thinking! =) But seriously, nice FFF as usual. Looking forward to the new stuff. That map zoom sounds really nice. I know it's gimmicky, but is the zoom feature used when pressing the M button? Maybe the delay would be a pain though....

Re: Achievements not quite working right

@123robert321 You will probably get Steam achievements again when playing on another save that has never had mods. Something else you could do is to modify your current save file so achievements for Steam are triggered again. I don't know whether it'll work if you still have the mods active, or whet...
