Re: What about a subscription model for Factorio starting with 0.18?

I would rather we design a full game, finish it, and then leave it as a complete piece of work, which doesn't need any more fiddling. Art is never finished, merely abandoned. I hate tooting my horn, but... He jumps into the sea and starts swimming off in that direction. And the waves crash and the ...

Re: Factorio Roadmap for 0.17 & 0.18

I don't even doubt that devs could release an unstable working version at least every week, they've just chosen to not do so. Minecraft does this, or used to, lemme check, brb ...yup, they still do. You missed a very important qualification in my original post, however: ...then slow down as the gam...

That goes for other people as well by the way, because this discussion (and I presume I'm speaking for featherwinglove here as well - sorry if I don't) Aside from the fact that I wasn't previously aware of the rubber duck debugging site (how old is the concept? It occurs to me that it may have insp...

Re: [0.17] Adding Ore Hardness and Pickaxes back in

It is script modding, not data modding so it feel a little more ... messy? Oktokolo said " faking it " ...um, like what? Then someone went on to say that scripting and data were two different " engines "? Perhaps the modding documentation needs a laymen's intro to some ba...

It's much more simpler than using splitters IMO.
This looks really cool: Simple smart Kovarex. My kind of centrifuge "battery" ;) (Look at the underground belt for the positive pole.)

Re: [0.17] Adding Ore Hardness and Pickaxes back in

Alright, I'll get the ball rolling by collating what ones I already know of, and I'm getting close to sleep time, so I hope I don't screw any of the quote pastes... Let's meet half way, shall we? Engine: 1. Reimplement the axe in the engine, along with a moddable wear rate that can be set to zero. 2...

Reusable Rockets I feel like this is a missing tool in the game. https://www.reddit.com/r/factorio/comments/aats24/reusable_rockets/?utm_source=reddit-android Which is that mod I found? (flip flip) Ah, there it is. I don't think it's necessary to have reusable launch vehicles in vanilla, but I won'...

Re: Friday Facts #275 - 0.17 Science changes

As someone who had missed that titbit of info in FFF#266, it does seem a bit silly to remove the AM input limits. I agree, but that can be modded back in. Officially, the axe is never coming back even with mods. Mining hardness is a mod-soluble problem, but it mostly affects modders and mod players...

Re: Friday Facts #266 - Cleanup of mechanics

Can you please counter the arguments, not just attack them and the people making them? Well, at least it's closer to an explanation why we should be deprived of them, but yeah, it's going nowhere. There are some easily answered questions that I will answer. But I've come and read your thread. Many ...

Re: SJT Dirty Ores Remastered

It's likely I'll switch back to DOR if it happens soon enough. Like I said, I'm not very far along in the game, and I think I'd like to stick to something I'm familiar with since this pack is so different from Muddy Mountains (0.14). I'd rather not have to learn yet another infinite ore- ...wait, th...

Okay, maybe this'll be easier. na there over 130 mods in there and im a lazy pos when i can get away with it. with the save i just have to hit the sync mods with save button and hit confirm and wait LMAO! Sending the whole mod folder is impossible. It's 818MB, and that's the one with the compressed...

Re: Friday Facts #275 - 0.17 Science changes

I wonder, do my 2101 played hours make me a 'core player'? Or am I just one of those 'There might be some core players who agree (...)'??? Or maybe I'm just a filthy casual scrub, dunno? Tell me what do you think of me, pretty please. I don't really know. I don't know how many hours I've played, it...

Re: SJT Dirty Ores Remastered

Any chance I could get a copy of that save to test. Nope, it was a loading screen crash. My instinct, FWIW, says it's probably Stone Age . It has some resource changes coming from the control.lua side of things, and is still very new and crufty. The original 0.14 version I had playing with Hard Cra...

Re: Friday Facts #274 - New fluid system 2

In addition to friction, shouldn't the fluid have an inertia ? so that when cornering some energy is lost, and the speed will slow down, increasing pressure build up behind the curve of the pipe. so if you zig-zag pipes it will fill up the backed up fluid slightly faster and slosh around less, or s...

Re: SJT Dirty Ores Remastered

The bummer is that something in the first version crashed hard in my latest mod pack, so I switched over to YAIOM. It's unlikely to be worth diagnosing in an environment where I'm probably the only person with these particular 135 mods (combining Cross Mod mountains-enabled and Stone Age makes for a...
