Re: Accumulator / Solar panel ratio

LuaSurface.darkness (which the mod uses) is capped at 0.85, it is completely useless for calculating solar panels. Anyone who thinks 0.84 is wrong should test it with 50 solar panels, 42 accumulators, and 7 radars before trying to do math. I was not testing solar panel capacity. I was just measurin...

Re: Colossus One - megafactory

Thanks for the screenshot tip and the link. Very usefull! Now a couple of things I've noticed: HOLY CRAP that is a lot of storage. Secondly, I see you're suffering from a particular problem in that screenshot. The whole loop is full of copper. There is no place anymore for iron. You do have those tr...

Re: Accumulator / Solar panel ratio

I don't have any mods that mess with day length. And yes, average solar panel output really is different. This is because the dusk and dawn phases are shorter. I also did the math to recalculate the new ratio using the info in the first post and it is now: (copied from first post and edited) n / m =...

02:00 night-dawn: the brightness starts increasing from 14% 06:00 dawn-day: brightness stops increasing at 100% 18:00 day-dusk: brightness starts decreasing 22:00 dusk-night: brightness is now 14% Edit: yes, I know for sure that the mod shows the correct time and brightness level because the change...

Re: Accumulator / Solar panel ratio

Guys, I'm not sure about the numbers on the wiki. It says that they are at least up to date up to 0.11.8. We're in 0.13.2 right now.. Maybe the holy 0.84 ratio isn't correct anymore :o But they haven't changed anything about solar panels and accumulators, right? The wiki hasn't been updated because...

Re: What is the night&day duration?

Are those values actually accurate and up-to-date?
Because the page also mentions the duration of those cycle phases in ticks and in percentages of the complete cycle and those values don't match up.

It happened again with 0.13.2 but now with a mod WITHOUT any spaces in the mod name. http://i.imgur.com/wOBljJ1.jpg (I have the img in a spoiler but it doesn't seem to work) Log file: 0.001 2016-07-01 15:52:55; Factorio 0.13.2 (Build 22949, win64, alpha) 0.001 Operating system: Windows 10 0.001 Prog...

To be clear, you still need to use chain signals inside intersections, and the exit block from an intersection needs to be as long as a train.
Yes, I know what you're asking. It's about signalling in between the intersections, just straight rail.

Re: Why not put a rail signal every two tiles?

You know what. I'm gonna try it for ya. I'm just at the point in my game where I'm creating the first bits of my train network. If I get any problems with it I'll post it here (at least I hope I remember to). To alleviate some of the strain on my brand new and small factory I will place a signal eve...

Re: Colossus One - megafactory

Interesting. You could build an entire factory out of these 'units' as the whole thing seems to be tileable. Have you tested the throughput/production capacity? One thing though, you seem to store copper and iron plates in the middle AND you loop it around. In my eyes you don't need both. And if you...

Re: Combinator Contraptions

I've made a 24-h clock. I suppose it's one of the simpler contraptions posted in this thread but there weren't any clocks so I made one. It uses the smart display mod to show the values. http://i.imgur.com/0FH3r2m.png The constant comb. and decider comb. to the left form the basis of the clock. They...
