Re: Version 0.12.0
Pro tip --- gun turrets don't use power and saw through them like lumber. Different alien types may require different tactics. If you put down a few gun turrets and then set a laser 2 to 3 squares behind those you have a great defense. Also please don't forget that according to the posted game plan ...

Re: Combat robots useless?
With the way the personal roboport is set up, it could be a huge bonus to drones. Let the drones recharge and rearm by attaching to the player, and recall them when they're nearly drained with no action. A reusuable drone will be a lot more useful and give something that can begin to compete with t...

Re: Version 0.12.0
Someone mentioned that bigger bitters were supposed to reduce the path finding employed by the aliens. Add bigger enemies and send less of them to improve the performance and keep the challenge. As one could say, no plan survives the contact with the enemy, in this case, the enemy wasn't informed to...

Re: Combat robots useless?
I will test it with 100+ destroyers, I honestly doubt it will do better than the turret spam. I played with medium setting. Most bases had 10-30 nests in them, but enough space between them so I do not have to face everything at the same time. Still, if I was to play at the highest concentration I w...

Combat robots useless?
I just tried to attack a large bitter base, two dozens nests and that much worms. Before patch, my standard setup of 24 destroyer drones and some poison capsules would be able to destroy that base with ease. After the patch... well, if it wasn't for bugged shields I would be dead. Destroyer drones d...

Re: Version 0.12.0
Why bigger enemies were added? The defense strategy will remain the same - just add more turrets. The attack strategy will not change - just use more turrets. So, what's the point of them other than forcing the player to build more turrets? It was talked about a few Friday facts ago, they were basi...

Re: The most useless thing in game.
Drone assisted turret spam is rather fast. If you use substations rather than poles, you won't even have to get close. After the battle is done, have drones clear everything and move on.
Sure, PAMKII with combat drones is better, but before you get there... turret spamming!

I have a question about boiler to steam engine ratio. Why 14:10? I use 10:10 and all my steam engines work at full capacity, why should I add another 4 boilers?

Re: The most useless thing in game.
You probably won't believe me, but I would add walls to the list... yeah, the large, stone thingies that keep bitters from killing the poor turrets defending the last bastion of... something. Still, the moment Laser Turrets become available, deployed in sufficient amount and upgraded, walls become o...

Re: Discussing the (missing?) 4th type of transport!
What would really be nice (and is missing from the game) is a low tech armor that ONLY increases movement speed, no armor bonuses whatsoever and low durability to keep people from charging bitter nests with it. Usually I am rushing for PAMKII not because I need shields to deal with bitters, but beca...

While we're on this, Why Do I need iron sticks for rail, but NOT wood for ties? Or do you not use wood in Europe? Resource availability. In green areas wood is plenty. Have fun building wood ties in a desert. Stone and Iron, on the other hand, are available anywhere (unless you messes up the world ...

Re: Friday Facts #89 Timetables
The new turrets look nice, could we also get new ammo for gun turret? Like sniper style ammo that has more range, very low rate of fire and high damage? Combined with option of giving turrets target priorities it would be possible to create more interesting defense lines, slightly better than 'three...

Re: Endgame concerns[POLL]
Sending a ship to bring the colonists does not seem that interesting. You bring the colonists and then what? There are no homes, no farms and scores of aliens that hates your guts and can kill everyone who gets outside the base without heavy armor. Maybe reduce the impact of the whole 'save colonist...

Re: Laser Turrets and their Speed Upgrades
Maybe two weapons? Rename the current laser turret to something like 'particle turret', give it instant hit abilities and leave it like that. Then add a second high level, high energy requirement, constant laser beam weapon. Two weapons would be much easier to balance as everyone would simply keep t...

Re: Is this normal?
It's actually quite nice. Enough area to expand without running into bitters and bases large enough to need PAMKII to take on rather than a simple turret spam. I played one game with more enemies than here, due to limiting pollution I wasn't attacked even once. Not even when I placed Rocket Defense....

But you need temporary facilities. Can't craft Steel or Plastic so even with all technologies you will have to start with steam power and Stone Furnaces.

Re: The Map Generator hates your guts, or dude where is my c
I've won on that map. It was quite boring, mostly due to low pollution gameplay. Biters didn't even attack when I placed Rocket Defense... The starting resources would be enough if I did not build 50 lvl3 efficiency modules instead of speed modules, because of that I had to expand to grab coal in no...

Re: The Map Generator hates your guts, or dude where is my c
The sole fact that with 'very low' setting I do get more than one resource in my starting location is a proof that we are not talking about any kind of 'random' resources generation. Due to this I think that this semi-random generation is flawed as it does not guarantee all necessary resources to pl...
