Re: [0.12.0] nonNAT loopback Router = no MP with LAN players
Assuming you did use different ports for each factorio behind NAT. There are still few options available. You can overkill it and use a VPN. You should be able to redirect traffic(s) to each other in some routing table | At least Linux can do that. Just add a prerouting rule of "Going to my ext...

Failed to encode executable path as UTF-8.
Where is factorio installed?
Does the path have any strange characters / spaces in it?
If so, try installing into a short space-free path and see if that helps

Sounds reasonable, ore under concrete should not be visible / mine-able

Re: Friday facts #95 - 0.12 Release today
And for some reason concrete road doesn't show on global map if drones build it. Make sure that the map has been updated by either walking nearby or having it scanned by a radar. I know this doesn't likely cause the issue, but that's how troubleshooting works: Start with the easily testable. Yeah, ...

So it might be crashing only for you?
Did you try it on a fresh factorio copy of both factorio data and configuration?
EDIT: Oh, you already did that in the Laptop thread.

Re: Please cap desync reports
What "this" ?
PS:
I think the "test" program can test files for their age.
It should be easy to delete any older than X days in a shell script.
Then just append the "lauch factorio command" at the end of it.
And voilà, a factorio shortcut that caps desync reports

suggestion: Drag-placing a damaged object should place damaged objects first
Sounds useful, just the title wording is not good. Title suggestion: suggestion: Drag-placing a damaged object should place damaged objects first i.e. drag-placing undamaged preffers placing other undamage along the line while drag-placing damaged preffers placing other damaged along the line. Sure,...

Re: small improvement for default save
Took me a while to understand. "Load game" dialogue defaults to the yougest save and that's allright. Also it's irrelevant. The rest is about saving the game manually, could be called "Save game As" And the OP is not happy about the default option there. The suggestion is impleme...

Re: [0.11.22] Right-To-Left languages are presented Left-To-Right in the menus
remark: implementing a Hebrew text search could also be much harder because of this. The inner disk-search algorithm will likely be set to look for a sequence of bytes, but if you have both "logical" and "visual" - formatted files, finding one byte pattern simply won't work. All ...

Re: factorio launcher / profile manager
Do they use a plain text file even for their now-quite-old launcher? I thought I saw human-unfriendly xml being involved. Also adding a mod stopped being a "dump mod into mods dir, edit config, run" zeroclick type of deal. Did they finally resolve that ID thing? That "api" truly ...

I appreciate your explanation but all it's done, since I'm not a programmer, is confuse me about the difference between "logical" and "visual" representation of the text, and again - using scripts is not something I can do. I hope the #dev team will sometime soon allocate the re...

Re: [0.11.22] Right-To-Left languages are presented Left-To-Right in the menus
Allegro is the gaming/graphics engine that Factorio uses. If it doesn't support Unicode direction markers then MF-'s suggestion probably won't work. I thought the whole point of "logical ordering" is not having to support unicode direction markers Note: That's abbreviated in the former me...

Re: [0.11.20] Right-To-Left languages are presented Left-To-Right in the menus
If I understand you correctly, then it's the other way around - the text in the locale files is visually ok - but the game re-arranges it logically and that messes up the visual... I thought factorio simply doesn't support RTL / BiDi. So a "logical" RTL format will appear allright in the ...
